Review: Dash Decker vs. Gage Cardona (RHW 1.0)

When I did this review, I didn't know there'd be a big sale on Dash Decker matches or I would've tried to time it better. Instead, here it is in the RHW 1.0 slot I've put on my schedule  near the end of the month.

As I assembled images for this post, I started to notice that I've given the wrong impression. I just feel like if you want to see Dash dominate a smaller guy, you can do that any time, anywhere. So let me be clear that this match goes like you'd think and it isn't even close to being 50/50. Dash dominates, but as has happened before, I ended up being entranced by his few moments of helplessness.

Don't let me trick you with images like this ... sure,
they're awesome, but not reflective of most of the match

Inspiration: Leg Nelson

I'm sure we're all familiar with the full nelson. It gets used a lot throughout all kinds of wrestling and has been for many years. A few of the hottest pros have used the full nelson as a finisher, including 80's mega-stud Billy Jack Haynes and The Masterpiece Chris Masters.

The famous Masterlock

So yeah, the full nelson is great, but that's not what this post is about. Today is all about the leg nelson.

Review: SPOILERS! Brute/Thrasher vs. Cruise/Rush (BGEast)

And we've reached the third and final match from Tag Team Torture 19.

WARNING ... SPOILERS BELOW. There's no way to talk about this match without talking about the storyline. However, the catalog description does reveal the same info in words and pictures, so it can't be too big a deal.

Brute/Matt Thrasher vs. Morgan Cruise/Damien Rush is an interesting video. While the first two matches on this compilation played off what is great about classic tag matches, this one is all about the story and has a twist that I don't ever remember seeing before. At least not in a wrestling ring. I have seen it play out in bars, parties and the dinner table, but not as part of a tag match.

Review: Ty Alexander vs. Chase Addams (BGEast)

And I'm back with the second of three reviews from BGEast's Tag Team Torture 19.

Now you might be thinking, "Why is a singles match on a tag team compilation?"

It's a feud between tag partners

Review: Christian/Charlie vs. Ty/Chase (BGEast)

This is the first of three reviews from BGEast's upcoming Tag Team Torture 19. It's just been released on catalogue 114.1, so check it out.

In pro wrestling, I feel like tag team wrestling has fallen on hard times. There aren’t many amazing duos and they seldom headline pay-per-views. It’s mostly singles studs pairing up for short-term title reigns before going their separate ways again. One bright spot is NXT, but the genre (is it a genre?) is still not near its glory days.

As a lifelong fan of tag teams, I watched the entire Tag Team Torture 19 compilation. At first, I was going to just do one post about it all, but really, each of these matches is unique and works better as its own post.

First up, it’s popular BGE veterans pairing up with rookie partners in Christian Taylor/Charlie Evans vs. Ty Alexander/Chase Addams.

It's called tag team torture for a reason, Christian

Heroes: Spider-Man's Wild Night

*Story is a commission for a reader*

"What's up, Tall-Blond-and-Furry? Never figured you for an alley cat."

The ferocious mutant known as Sabertooth growled with surprise, "Spider-Man!"

The wind whistled down the dark alley. It had suppressed the hero's scent, keeping him hidden from Sabertooth's superhuman senses. The feral villain bared his fangs and exposed his razor sharp claws. He was a massive mountain of hard muscles, his tight brown and beige spandex barely able to contain him. He instinctively tensed into a defensive crouch.

Review: Flash LaCash vs. Van Skyler (BGEast)

Every match could be someone's first. It could be the first match they ever choose to buy, first from the company or first with the wrestler. It's why it should be important that every match is the best it can be and descriptions be accurate. I have definitely purchased from a couple of producers then never purchased again. I've done the same with wrestlers. Maybe it wasn't their best match or their best for my tastes, but it was my first and I formed my opinion.

Of course sometimes first impressions can be wrong, but most of the time, I think it's more like they're just incomplete. Depending on where you start watching a wrestler, you might not see their potential. You might not get their persona or see their skills. It's why I like reading blogs and asking other guys about different guys. Folks often gush over guys and I don't get why. Sometimes it's just different tastes, but sometimes it's because I haven't watched the right match.

Review: Brute vs. NJustice (Thunders Arena)

Well, Thunders Arena lured me in again with a special offer. I saved $7 on Tak vs. Eagle then I could add Brute vs. NJustice for just a few more dollars. I looked at the guys and thought, what the heck? Fortunately, it worked out as this was a fun fight with a big muscle pro pounding on a soft-bellied heel-jobber.

Yeah, you're in BIG trouble, new guy

Review: Z-Man vs. Eagle - 10th Anniversary (Thunders)

Full disclosure: This video was provided to me by Thunders Arena.

Wow, time flies. Thunders Arena is celebrating Z-Man's 10th anniversary. I'm not gonna lie and claim that I've been with him since the beginning. For some reason, he never made my must-buy shortlist. I like him, but I only have his matches because of his opponents, including guys like a certain big and sexy wrestler, Jake Jenkins, Alex Waters and pro wrestling super studs Kelly King and Lane Hartley.

So maybe I haven't seen everything, but what I can say is that as I looked back at my collection, I enjoyed every match of his that I own and what more can someone ask?

PSA: Dash Sale @ RHW ENDS TODAY

Guys,

I tweeted about this on Thursday (follow me @AlexWrestler68), but I decided I'd post on it, too. Until midnight tonight, Rock Hard Wrestling is offering every Dash Decker download for only $13.95.

Check it out here!

If there are any Dash matches that you don't own, this is a great time to complete your collection. Dash is simply amazing and he only did 13 videos for Rock Hard Wrestling. And he's done none for anyone else. Yes, some are better than others, but I think my least favorite Dash matches (KOTR4 and Josh Steel) are still buyable. Especially at that price.

If you've never bought any Dash matches, you probably aren't looking to spend $181.35 on every match. So here are a few suggestions on where to start.

KOTR2: Dash Decker vs. Alex Waters

I've said many times that this is my favorite RHW match ever. It's simply fantastic. This match is what RHW is all about and it stars their two greatest proprietary talents. Unlike Jake, Austin, Z-Man or Ethan, these two are 100% pure RHW.

Review: Tak vs. Eagle (Thunders Arena)

Did you know that Tak stands for The All-American Kid? At least it did. In Tak vs. Eagle from Thunders Arena, the trim blond wrestler explains that he's promoted himself to The All-American King, but Eagle isn't convinced. He calls him The All-American Child and The All-American Baby. Of course that latter one would be Tab, but when you look like Eagle, nobody cares about little things like acronyms.

The Cave Undercard 12: Jeff vs. Josh

"This will be fucking cool. I've never fucked a big-time pro wrestler before."

"And you ain't gonna get to fuck one now, either, dude. I kinda feel bad for you. That flight back to Cali is gonna feel real long with a sore ass."

Dude just smiles at me, like I'm kiddin' myself. He takes off his shirt and climbs into the ring.

Josh

I shadow box and bounce around, warmin' up. I watch him get ready and gotta admit, he's pretty hot lookin'. Exactly what I need right now. I'm like mostly straight, but wrestlin' and fuckin' just go together for me. When I beat a hot guy, my cock wants to fuck him and you gotta obey your cock, right?
