Review: Josh Goodman vs. Gil Barrios (BGEast)

Josh Goodman is having a pretty good year at BGEast, even though he might not even be wrestling any more. He's already appeared in my current favorite match of 2017 against Cole Cassidy, rocking animal print trunks. Now, Ringwars 27 features Josh Goodman vs. Gil Barrios.

This is another old-new match. New because it was just released, but obviously filmed years ago where aging musclemen wore unfortunate soul patches and things existed in a 4:3 ratio.

Josh wants Gil bad enough to
face him one-handed.

Don't get me wrong. Josh Goodman is/was gorgeous. Dated facial hair aside, he's pretty much perfectly proportioned and sculpted. I loved the same red swim trunks on Lane Hartley, but Josh fills them out even better. His pouch is enormous, sagging and tenting in spectacular fashion. The trunks are literally unable to contain him, causing a sexy and teasing gap at the side.

Gil Barrios is new to me, despite appearing in a ton of matches. I guess he just never caught my eye. Here, he's a good contrast for Josh's textbook perfection. Gil is lean, wiry and average looking. When he gets to dominate the god, it's a classic dynamic that adds to the sexiness of the video. Gil starts out in green trunks before getting stripped down to a purple thong when his fortunes change.

With muscles like that, maybe Josh only needs one arm.

It's like a reverse Charles Atlas ad as
"Before" flexes over "After".

If Gil doesn't want to be there, I'll switch with him.

It all begins with a lengthy segment in the gym then another lengthy segment in the ring, where Josh gets his arm tied behind his back. Admittedly, I fast forwarded through much of this, but essentially Josh wants a match. He offers up money and the one-arm handicap, so Gil accepts. It takes a long time to get there, but eventually they start wrestling.

Gil enjoys torturing the arrogant hunk.

One-armed Josh learns a lesson in humility.

Uh oh. Payback time.

There's not a ton of action in this, thanks to the 12 minutes of setup, leaving 19 minutes for wrestling. It's back-and-forth while Josh has one-arm, with Gil taking control and earning his money. I don't think it's much of a spoiler to say that the restraint comes off and Josh dishes out some brutal and sexy revenge. It's vintage Josh Goodman as arrogant heel.

Each guy makes the most of their limited time on top, looking amazing while dominating and suffering. Josh delivers another great performance, while Gil is impressive in his role. When Gil flexes his smaller muscles, it's wonderfully mocking, especially since muscleman Josh put himself in this position. And when Gil's luck runs out, he suffers nicely, moaning and crying at the bully's abuse.

A classic bearhug.

And BOOM! goes the dynamite.

Josh is a good guy, giving Gil a mid-match snack.

In the end, I liked this, even with the long setup. Josh is always compelling and Gil makes a good match for him. The one-armed gimmick gives us a chance to see Josh on the receiving end, while the final 'fair fight' action allows his natural heel self to shine.

So that's my take. What's yours?
