Review: Marco vs. CJS (Thunders Arena)

You know I love contrasts between wrestlers. Marco vs. CJS definitely fits that description. So many angles as Kasper returns to Thunders Arena as CJS to battle one of their biggest stars in Marco. Who the heck is Kasper? I had the same reaction, but does it matter? No, as it turns out, it doesn't. You'll be able to follow along without any kind of history.

Marco vs. CJS

I talked about contrasts and they're fairly overt. Smooth vs. hairy. Young vs. old(er). Skill vs. size. Fitness vs. bulk. Metrosexual vs. lumbersexual. The guys call most of them out and Marco even comments, "Oh, we're going that angle" when CJS says, "Real men have hair." So they're well aware of their differences and the need to prove what makes a man at Thunders.

Marco looks leaner, but maybe that's because he's beside such a blocky, beefy muscleman. Either way, he is always in amazing shape and this video is no different. The guy must have incredible discipline. CJS is really thick and powerful looking. Marco virtually disappears behind him when he removes the mature muscleman's shirt.

This is a long video, especially for Thunders. It's over 30 minutes, so the 4-5 minutes of bantering and flexing at the start isn't a big deal. It also allows for multiple reversals and extended holds where you get to check the guys out as they struggle and suffer.

These two go back and forth. It's mat work, so there are a lot of scissors and classic moves, like crabs and nelsons. Of course Marco goes low as he often does. It's one way to even the playing field, but I think Marco just likes doing it. CJS flexes when he's on top, clearly enjoying his return to Thunders.

It takes two ... hands?

I'd say that regardless of how you want it to turn out, you'll be okay. Both guys win a fall by knockout, so sleeper fans will be happy. There's an ultimate winner in the end by another rear naked choke, but if that's not the one you like, you can always focus on your guy's earlier successful sleeper (or your guy going out to a sleeper for jobber fans).

In the end, I was all in on this one. The physical contrast sets the stage then the back-and-forth action made it great for multiple viewings. CJS keeps Marco engaged and interested, which is always important for the young stud. The older hunk brings a different look, combining maturity and beefiness to the mats.
