The Cave: Who's Who (September 2017)

Guys,

A lot of storyline this month in both stories, but of course there were hot studs. We got an unlikely matchup in The Cave and to see a couple of the CLAW 1 background guys in action.

Update on Rock Hard Wrestling and 88Wrestling

Guys,

I received the below email from the owner of 88Wrestling as a 'press release' of sorts. It explains what 88 is and its relationship with Rock Hard Wrestling. I figured I'd share this with all of you, since it seems relevant. And I added a couple of pics just for interest's sake.

Why is Tanner vs. Chase an 88 video? Let's find out ...

Update on Rock Hard Wrestling and 88Wrestling

There’s been quite a bit of talk and speculation over the past several months about what’s happening at Rock Hard Wrestling. And, what is this new 88Wrestling site all about? I haven’t been able to share any insight up to this point out of respect for the business decisions that were being made at RHW. Essentially, the decision to bring RHW to a close was a mutual decision between myself and the other co-owner. My business partner moved on, but, I was persuaded to stay in the wrestling business by some close associates, and thus went on to create 88Wrestling. The new site’s goals are; 1) to bring the next generation of superstar wrestlers to the underground wrestling scene, along with some favorite blasts from the past, 2) to bring exciting, never seen before match series for our fans and customers to enjoy, and 3) to bring quality videos at reasonable prices to our fans and customers. We welcome all of the RHW fans and customers, along with all the other underground wrestling fans, to come join us.

About 88Wrestling (which can be found on our Contact Us Page)

We are the next generation of superstar wrestlers in the online wrestling scene. You’ll see fresh, young, aesthetic, hard bodied wrestlers that flex and show off their real muscle, along with some hot, sexy favorite blasts from the past. These two factions collide and fight to lay claim to the crown of the federation. In addition, you’ll discover never seen before new match series along with a fierce attitude. Come join us for a world of intrigue and excitement!

Located deep in the heart of south Florida in the baddest part of town is the 88th Street Gym. Every week wrestlers train in the heat and grit inside this professional ring and gym to improve their skills in an effort to scratch, scrape, and sweat their way to the top. We film the best of these wrestlers in high definition and produce high quality videos for you to enjoy.

Will 88 Wrestling be a winner?

Review: Justin Powers vs. JJ Allen (Muscleboy Wrestling)

The completist in me felt compelled to cover the fifth of five Justin Powers matches I have. It would've been okay to do one or three, but four of five just gnawed at me. So here we are. Looking at Justin Powers vs. JJ Allen from Muscleboy Wrestling.

Can JJ really resist Justin's charms?

Quick Hits: Justin Powers x 2 (Muscleboy Wrestling)

So I just learned that Justin Powers is also a porn actor. It's not a secret, but I didn't know. Muscleboy Wrestling copied his porn identity when they re-tweeted my tweet about my review. I kind of wondered who Aston Springs was, but I didn't look until recently. He's on Men.com, but I let my subscription expire since I was only returned there for the superhero videos last summer.

Anyway, why is this relevant? Well, first it helps explain why he's so comfortable on the mats. Remember I said I couldn't believe he was a rookie, because he was too good. Now I get it. He's an experienced performer. It also helps me understand why his videos are getting heavier on porn and in his latest, lighter on wrestling.

And so, I feel like I need to review these, since I've talked Justin up so much. They suggest a trajectory that is moving in the porn direction, especially against Sean Duran. Justin's matches are more expensive than most ($30), so it seems like something you should know before you buy.

Review: Cole Cassidy vs. Tarzan Tyler Reese (BGEast)

A recent comment got me thinking about this classic BGEast match again. I knew I wanted to post about Cole Cassidy vs. Tarzan Tyler Reese as soon as I read the comment, so here we are. I even VOD'ed it, because my copy is good enough for me, but not as good as I wanted for a post.

It's a classic featuring one of my favorite things
in the world - a sexy stud in a loincloth.

Review: Austin Tyler vs. Zach Reno (Wrestler4Hire)

I'm back with more Austin Tyler, this time from Wrestler4Hire. I'm sure I would've watched Austin no matter what, but when I saw that he was wrestling Zach Reno, this became one of those immediate views.

It's Austin Tyler vs. Zach Reno

Review: Nick Flex vs. Luke Maxwell (Muscleboy Wrestling)

Muscleboy Wrestling has launched its fourth catalogue since debuting in April. I decided on four matches to start, all of which featured some of my favorite wrestlers from the early catalogues. I've watched them all, but decided to review Nick Flex vs. Luke Maxwell first.

Things start out friendly as
Nick Flex takes on Luke Maxwell.

Review: #551 Austin Tyler vs. Erik the Viking (UCW)

It's been a little bit since I reviewed a UCW video. It's been even longer since I bought one. I'd say we went in different directions, based on Joe at Ringside's reviews. He talked about 'no homo' and gay creeper stuff that my regular readers know isn't something I like. There was also a 'death match' in June. Uh, no thanks.

So that's how nine months can go by as I just got out of the habit of regularly checking UCW out. I finally remembered they exist when I wanted to look at something different. I decided to see what was up and chose Austin vs. Erik.

How did it go?

Can Austin bend the Viking to his will?

What is 88wrestling.com?

Well, well, well ... it appears there's a new player coming. Or, I suspect a re-branded old player.

I received this teaser in my inbox for a new site called 88wrestling.com. It sure looks like Rock Hard Wrestling to me. The look, tone and feel are similar and the featured guy, Chase Lundquist in black and blue square cuts, is very RHW.

I know that this new site must be linked to someone I've bought from, because it didn't come to my gmail account. So it's not someone teasing me as a blogger. They're teasing me as a (former?) customer.

Also teasing us is Austin Cooper/Frey via Twitter ( @Austin_Frey1 ).

The question is, who's doing it and why? NHB became Movimus, so it has happened before. New management? Did someone buy RHW and want a fresh start? Was the name Rock Hard Wrestling off-putting to wrestlers? Is someone just copying RHW? Or am I completely wrong and this has nothing to do with RHW at all? I highly doubt that last question.

So what do you think? We've got four days to speculate. Is it interesting to you? Does it excite you? Will you be checking them out on 9/21?

CLAW 2: Mateo vs. Xander

"It doesn't bug you?"

Xander doesn't answer me. Instead, the ripped muscleman spins and flexes his right bicep in the mirror on the far wall outside the wrestling ring where we're supposed to be training. Or more accurately, where I'm supposed to be training his untalented, but hot, ass. And the guy is super-hot and huge - 6'5"/260-lbs, tanned and sculpted, decked out in tight white trunks, along with white boots and pads.

Xander's a big guy.

Quick Hits: Vinny x 2 Ring (Thunders Arena)

We're back with day two of Vinny. Hairier, hunkier and more ripped, Vinny debuts in the Thunders Arena ring. He's barely wearing the same tiny blue posers that I loved on Talon against Tak. They look microscopic on the bigger macho muscleman.

What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man.

Big Daddy Vinny owns the ring and Scrappy..

Quick Hits: Vinny x 2 Mats (Thunders Arena)

I've liked Vinny for a long time. Barring one language issue early in his career, I really do enjoy him. I will freely admit that my attraction has always been primarily physical. I love his body. I love his look. I can enjoy his blue collar muscleman vibe, even as I occasionally cringe at his banter.

If you've been following Vinny lately, you might have noticed a change in his look. I certainly have. For me, he looks better than ever. Vinny has gone full-on rugged muscle Daddy. Beard. Body hair. And a leaner look. It's just fan-fucking-tastic.

Holy fuck. Better than ever.

Yeah, kiss that muscle. You deserve it.

Today and tomorrow, I'm going to quickly cover four of Vinny's most recent matches. First up are two mat matches in the Thunders garage then tomorrow are two ring matches.

Review: Blayne vs. Scrappy 3 (Thunders Arena)

Two of the best at Thunders Arena are back against each other. Even though I already own two different Blayne vs. Scrappy matches (Custom Series 45 and No Holds Barred 82) and even reviewed them both this year (here and here), I decided this looked different enough for me to try it. Plus, I just really like them both.

Blayne and Scrappy pull out all the stops
to get a big win in the Thunders ring.

Review: Lane Hartley vs. Kirk Donahue (BGEast)

BGEast's Kirk Donahue vs. Lane Hartley match is exactly what you think it is. It's entirely predictable, built off common pro wrestling tropes. That's neither good nor bad, because it all comes down to execution. There are good pro vs. joe squashes and there are bad ones. It comes down to the performances, the action and the production.

Luckily, this one is good on all three, so if this is your type of match, you'll like it.

Big pro Lane shows wannabe Kirk the ropes.

Review: Justin Powers vs. Luke Maxwell (Muscleboy Wrestling)

I'm back already with more Justin Powers from Muscleboy Wrestling. I've watched all four matches so far and they're all very entertaining. I chose this one to review second for no particular reason, other than it's somewhat unique among the four.

Justin faces his toughest challenge
so far against Luke Maxwell.

Review: Ace Owens vs. Nick Justice (W4H)

As I've explained before, I feel like if there's one or two matches a month that I really like on Wrestler4Hire’s streaming service, I've made my money back. Thanks to this match, I've already won September. Ace Owens vs. Nick Justice is a really well-done wrestling match with just the right amount of story elements.

The Cave Undercard 18: Ace vs. Moneymaker

"Ryan, are you serious with this match?"

My best friend and business partner looks at me with his usual amused and patronizing look whenever I question his business decisions. He simply responds, "Yes."

Ryan and I are seated at my kitchen island discussing The Cave. It's our gay-oriented, superhero-themed wrestling video company. We co-own it, but Ryan definitely has more experience on the business side. However, I have more experience on the talent side. After all, I am The Bat, the biggest and best-selling star. So I feel like he should listen to me on this.

My boyfriend Jae looks over from my sofa, curious about what I'm talking about. He's also a popular wrestler, both as the hero SuperStar and the villain DarkStar. I turn, "Get this, Jae. Ryan is pairing Ace against Moneymaker."
