Review: Cason vs. Steel x 2 (Thunders Arena)

Thunders Arena left Vegas a long time ago. They've moved on to the new Cap era (and he does look like a cutie), but I'm still wrapping up my Sin City purchases. These are the final two, both featuring gorgeous muscle studs Cason and Steel. Even though the videos feature the same talent, they are completely different in look, tone and feel.

A picture perfect pair.

Cason w/Scrappy vs. Steel

Cason gets paid again.

Once again, Cason is being paid to do someone else's dirty work. While the surprise for Bolt was a playful prank (reviewed here), Scrappy is buying a pure brutal beatdown. The intended target is Steel and the client is Scrappy. The young buck has $400, a grudge and an admiration for Cason's impeccable physique. The guy looks like a classic physique model in his tight squarecut briefs and tank top. If it was tighter, he'd be right out of the 50's.

It takes about three minutes to navigate the setup then it's a one-sided beatdown. We learn that Scrappy is a terrible client, both demanding and unreasonable. He changes the terms during the match, claiming that $400 means Cason must get four submissions. I didn't know the going rate was $100 a submission and neither did Cason. Still, he accepts the new deal and goes back to work.

I guess you shouldn't expect honor from a guy who's paying you to beat someone up.

Hi, Steel. Scrappy's got a surprise for you.

Muscle manhandles muscle.

Cason earns his $400.

The action is basic with chokes, bearhugs, body punches and scissors. It's the scenario that amplifies this. I admit that I really liked the idea of big Steel getting his ass kicked by the bigger Cason for pay. Scrappy is annoying, but that's his character. There's a little Cason-Scrappy action as tempers boil over, but it's mostly Steel getting wrecked.

As with Viking-Mack (reviewed here), the video quality for this night match isn't my favorite. The bright spotlight only highlights a small area. It makes things feel fairly static. Steel is displayed well, but you don't get a great look at Cason.

I sure do respect Cason's work ethic.

Cason did the work, but Scrappy's the big winner.

In the end, I enjoyed this for the scenario and the sight of seeing the muscular Steel broken down by a nefarious plot. It's very much in line with the kind of diabolical shenanigans of classic pro wrestling and stories. Cason is more of a plot driver, playing third fiddle behind suffering Steel and scheming Scrappy, but he looks great.

Cason vs. Steel

This time, the boys face off in a fun and fair battle.

The two big men meet up again, this time without any outside interference or elaborate storyline. In fact, this video is incredible simple in premise and execution. It's actually the kind of video that launched Thunders, just set in a pool environment.

The video starts with a bearhug and just keeps going. This is the fun frat house Thunders that you're familiar with. Of course both guys look amazing. Steel is in a skimpy blue poser that didn't fit Talon's ass, so you know it can't handle Steel's massive bubble butt.

I like Steel's gear choice.

It's bearhugs to start.

The guys stay hot as they cool off in the pool.

Interestingly, I was speaking with someone about this video and he complained that he didn't buy the action. I can't disagree with that. But I don't think that's the point of the video (or most Thunders videos). It's horseplay, the kind many of enjoyed as kids. My friend Paul had a pool and we'd wrestle in it all the time. That's what this reminds me of. I definitely dunked guys and was dunked by them. Maybe that's why i liked this so much.

With the guys on a concrete patio, you're not going to get slams or anything. They exchange bearhugs, flex and arm wrestle. Once they decide to get wet, you get some lifts and flips in the safer environment of a pool. I remember chokes, dunks and scissors, as well. They're applied well. After each one, the guys move on, taking his turn and so it goes.

There's a winner, although it's a situation where one guy just says he's done, rather than a dominating knockout or anything. The video is crisp and bright, which I appreciate. Both guys are shown off beautifully on top and bottom.

Classic pool horseplay.

Everybody's wet by the end of this one.

In the end, I enjoyed this one as sexy, casual fun. It's very Thunders. Stunning bodybuilders. Goofing around. Showing off. No one's mad about anything. It's just muscular frat boys having a good time. There's an element of nostalgia to it, with its perfect simplicity and clear sense of purpose.

So that's my take. What's yours?

Alex

  1. Cason and Steele, going at it on a rooftop pool. Getting all wet. Ok. This was a pretty hot concept. I mean, cmon! A little muscle worship and it was a home run. Still a hit though!

    1. Thanks for the comment. Well, we know Cason would've been down for some worship, because he's often feeling up other guys' muscles and he enjoyed Blayne worshipping him.
