Review: Ty Alexander vs. Brendan Byers (BGEast)

BGEast is launching catalogue 132 soon. The first videos are up on the Arena, starting with a new Ringwars compilation. It's a winner with four superstars (Ty Alexander, Josh Goodman, Lane Hartley and Kid Karisma) in action, plus two popular hunks (Brendan Byers and Joe Robbins). I've already watched two of the matches and both are good.

I'll review Lane Hartley vs. Kid Karisma soon, but I watched Ty Alexander vs. Brendan Byers first, so I'm reviewing it first.

Past faces present and the future looks great.

Brendan Byers had a great run as a jobber maybe a decade ago? In his eight matches, he faced Brooklyn Bodywrecker, Cole Cassidy (singles + tag), J-Rock, Joe Mazetti, Aryx Quinn, Shane Styles and Tarzan Tyler Reese. That's a hot list without a dud on it. Now, he's getting to face a modern superstar in Ty Alexander. That's clean living for you.

Byers is tall (6'2") and lean, but now more mature (aren't we all?). He's rocking shiny orange trunks and arm bands. Ty shows up in a perfectly coordinated blue and purple ensemble, right down to his matching purple thong. He looks great with some hair on his chest and swagger in his step.

Brendan's returned looking great.

Brendan appreciates Ty's assets as much as us.

I love guys who enjoy their work.

There's a natural rivalry here between past and present top tier jobbers. Byers quickly explains that he's abandoning his boyish loser past and coming in hot as a dominant heel. Ty smirks at that, but plays along, worshipping the returning hunk. However, we all know that Ty's a jobber, but a heel-jobber. He immediately sends Byers to the mat. Looks like not much has changed there.

I really enjoyed how much these two are into each other. They're clearly into the match and each other. And so, I'm into them. This is a sexy ring match with a lot of flirting, caressing and fondling. Of course Brendan can't resist exposing and enjoying Ty's amazing ass, which is much-appreciated fan service.

The returning stud falls for Ty's worship.

Welcome back, Brendan.

I love the new attitude.

Action-wise, this 29-minute video starts out back-and-forth, but it does shift into squashiness as one stud takes over and dominates. It's action-packed once it gets going. The moves (e.g., crab, camel, OTK) are classic and well-done. There's a lot of body work, which is both punishing and pleasuring. Ty stays in character, creatively using his bubble butt to inflict punishment. Brendan's piledrivers are among the best I've seen in the gay wrestling scene.

Uh, that move doesn't need a handle.

Ty knows how to use what he's got.

Fast and devastating, I'm impressed by
Brendan's piledrivers.

In the end, this was a fun inter-generational encounter. Brendan's return as a mature heel works for me, as does Ty's continuing evolution into a heel-jobber extraordinaire. The guys look great, the action is solid, and the chemistry between them is hot. It's a great return for former boy jobber Brendan, continuing his good luck with superstar opponents. Lucky man.

So that's my take. What's yours?

Alex

  1. I love this role for Ty. Heel-jobber suits him perfectly (is there a more elegant term, though?), and the scruff and extra muscle he's putting on works well for the role. A total squash can be cool sometimes, but for me it's always more fun and interesting to see some fight from both wrestlers. And these two have the talent and attitude. Although that piledriver gif and quivering Ty is so worth salivating over.

    1. Thanks. If you like that GIF, hopefully you noticed the caption. There’s an ‘s’ on that last word. ;)
