Review: Flash LaCash vs. Channing Travolta (Wrestler4Hire)

I've been making my way through the soundless videos from Wrestler4Hire. In case you missed it, Cameron shot 16 videos only to discover that there is no audio. There are also some video issues, with the picture washed out. He offered them up for a song (well, if a song costs $35), but it was still a great deal. And even better was the debut of the sexy new jobber boy named Channing Travolta in five of the matches.

You're going down, jobber boy!

Flash LaCash is one of the best heels around. He's rough and tumble with a sexy masculine body, thick beard and intense persona. He's a complete mismatch for soft-bellied jobber Channing Travolta who's brand new to wrestling. The unsuspecting rookie is stuffed into basic blue trunks, befitting his station as the new wrestling dummy at Wrestler4Hire.

Who sent this meatball to the ring?

Spread 'em for the camera! Yeah, that's it.
The jobber instincts are strong in this one.

Never send a boy to do a man's job.

Without sound, we don't know the exact story, but I think it's pretty obvious. Jobber Channing is stretching and getting ready with jumping jacks. Flash is bemused, checking out the beefy rookie. The sounds we're missing is likely Flash's trash talking and Channing's moaning and whimpering as he's demolished by the better man.

This is a sleeper-focused squash with a few other holds mixed in. The 'match' clocks in at a perfect-for-me 17 minutes. My attention span doesn't last much longer than that for wrestling videos. Especially single-focused ones. It's enough time to check out bodies, run through hot holds and tell a compelling story (even if I have to fill in some of the gaps).

Fuck, you're in for an ass-kicking.

On your knees, bitch!

When this is done, maybe they'll change
your name to Channing Van Gogh, boy.

Action-wise, the wrestling begins right away. It all starts in classic pro wrestling fashion with a collar-and-elbow lock up. Right from there, Flash is more experienced, more skilled and stronger. He takes control and never relinquishes it. Despite being a big guy, Channing is completely outmanned and outmatched. He's knocked out multiple times only to be woken up to suffer some more.

Yeah, okay, boy. You try fighting back.

You enjoying the view, jobber boy?

Pathetic. Didn't even work up a sweat.

In the end, I liked watching the rookie's humiliation, even without sound. Flash is one of my favorite heels and Channing makes a great soft-bellied jobber for this simple beatdown. I can imagine Channing's exquisite suffering and Flash's ruthless and demeaning trash talk.

So, that's my take. What's yours?

Alex

  1. Like the belly on Channing. I will point out that he beats Flash in one area and that is he seems to have the better bulge in the trunks although it is tough to see a bulge in black trunks like Flash is wearing.

    1. Channing has a great bulge in trunks. In the white trunks he wears against Garrett Thomas, it’s right out there. Wrestling Arsenal did a great post on that match on 3/14 ( http://www.wrestlingarsenal.net/wordpress/?p=34373 ).
