Review: Big Sexy vs. Dominic vs. Frey (Thunders Arena)

As I was looking for things to talk about, I stumbled across this unheralded video. I say unheralded since I couldn't find any blogger who talked about it. Maybe they did and I missed it. I know Thunders Arena and Joe (by request) purged a bunch of Big Sexy stuff years ago when someone actually believed that you could erase things from the internet. How foolish folks were back then. Of course Big Sexy's profile and all his matches are back at Thunders, because let's face it, it was never really gone and nobody really cares.

Big Sexy vs Dominic vs. Frey is like an all-star video with three of the GOAT's at Thunders. It's a custom (wow, nice job, commissioner) also 42 minutes long and only $22 currently. Nice. But what's it all about?

Frey figure-fours Dom.

Story-wise, it all starts very Thunders. The boys are chilling, watching another match (I can't tell which one), and they're just ripping the wrestlers apart for their lack of skill and strategy. At one point, Dominic describes one guy as "Brock Lesnar back in the day", which Big Sexy corrects to "Brock Lesnar's gay brother." Almost a trigger moment. Anyway, we've got about three minutes of this banter.

Big Sexy is extolling the virtues of the piledriver as the finisher. Dominic argues that the sleeper is the best. Frey is obviously the odd man out in this bromance. Not only is he sitting off to the side out of frame while Big Sexy and Dominic dominate the sofa, but he eagerly weighs in saying they're both wrong and that the rear naked choke is the best. Uh, that's the same as a sleeper, sport. So needy.

Anyway, you know where this is headed. A sleeper knocks one guy out. Then a piledriver knocks him out again. Then all three guys take it to the garage for a round robin battle to see which move and which wrestler is the best.

Sexy piledrives Frey.

Dom spreads Sexy.

The guys strip down and wrestle it out. They all look great in their own way. Of course I could rank them, but I'm not going to because they're all outstanding muscle hunks. Dominic and Big Sexy are buddies, but when they battle, they go at each other hard. Frey does a great job hanging with them, proving himself on the mats the way he couldn't in the TV room.

Not sure if I have to tell you that you see numerous piledrivers (all three guys suffer at least one) and a lot of sleepers/rear naked chokes (all three guys are knocked out at some point). As well, the guys do a lot more between those finishers. Big bearhugs. Camels. Crabs. Figure-fours. Racks. Et cetera.

Dom sleepers Frey.

Frey rear naked chokes Sexy.

Sexy stretches Dom.

One of the best things about this video is the round robin format (instead of three-way free-for-all). Each round is like a mini-match that you can enjoy on its own. Let's face it, every time one of these superstars is knocked out, it's a memorable moment. It's kind of like getting a bunch of Big Sexy vs. Dominic, Dominic vs. Frey, and Frey vs. Big Sexy matches bundled together.

Considering two of them have moved on from gay-oriented wrestling videos, this is a chance to enjoy their greatness over and over again.

Sexy owns Dom.

Dom racks Frey.

Frey controls Sexy.

In the end, this is great value and a great video. It's fun with a nice conflict and lots of chemistry. I love all three of these guys and they all wrestle well. Big Sexy and Dominic are a world-class pair and I love their obvious friendship and rivalry. Once they hit the mats, Frey feels like a natural fit, able to hang with both these two studs on all levels.

Dom sleepers Big Sexy.

Frey camels Dom.

Sweaty Sexy racks Frey.

So that's my take. What's yours?

Alex

  1. I do prefer something like a round robin format than a free for all. The latter tend to get messy. As you say, with a round robin you get a bunch of mini matches. Kind of like a box of chocolates. A little something for everyone.

    1. Yep. Messy is a good way to describe typical three-way matches. One guy usually gets left out or the action ends too soon.

    Gotta track it down!
