Review: Kayden Keller vs. Rolf Fulton (BGEast)

You know, I really do like this Heel Bash series at BGEast. There's something fun and exciting about the whole thing, especially since at BGE, heel is usually synonymous with toughness and winning. There are a few babyface tough guys, but for the most part, the studs who dominate the matches are the ones who push the envelope, bend the rules and show contempt for rules and societal norms. And the series also answers those "who's the better heel" debates. Who are the real heels and who should stick to picking on prettyboys?

One guy gets some redemption.
One guy gets exposed (metaphorically) as a faux heel.

This is normally where I describe the wrestlers. As I started to write, and this might just be me, I thought that Kayden Keller and Rolf Fulton are very similar. They're both taller, lanky and could pass as an older, more experienced big brother (Rolf) and a younger-but-bigger little brother (Kayden). Both are bad boys. Maybe not the exact same type of meanness, but they would definitely have grown up with a huge rivalry, if they were related.

Kayden is decked out in his standard basic black uniform. Rolf is in bright green briefs. Another similarity is that both have been owned in previous Heel Bash videos by "better heels", so neither can claim to be top alpha heels. One will get some of his mojo back and one of them will be a two-time loser to "better heels". If they needed a reason to go all out, that seems like a pretty good one.

Yeah, Rolf isn't afraid to go low.

How's the view in the mirror now, Rolf?

The two are in it to win it!

One way heels go all-out is by cheating. Kayden's on-board with that idea right away. He sneaks into the ring with a chain that he proceeds to use to choke Rolf immediately. Naturally, the chain gets used by both guys, adding the "foreign object" element from classic pro wrestling. They also don't hold back on the low blows, arrogance or taunting.

Dude, you're looking in a mirror.
How can anyone sneak up on you?

I wonder if Kayden thinks bringing a chain
to the ring was such a good idea now?

A kneeling heel is a dangerous heel.

Kayden Keller vs. Rolf Fulton is vaguely back-and-forth in that the guys both get to dominate. However, it turns squashy as these things seem to do. The heels might start out on par but eventually one guy proves that he's the alpha heel, dominating from mid-point through to the end. In this case, the winner takes over about ten minutes into this 25-minute video and never looks back.

Normally, I'd say choking a guy with a chain AND
a dragon sleeper is overkill, but here? It works.

Lean heels are bendy heels.

Get back up, I'm not done with you!

In the end, this is a solid entry into the Heel Bash series. I usually like contrasting guys but the similarities work to add tension in this case. After this one turns squashy, there's no doubt which guy gets to step up a notch and which guy should maybe stick to facing prettyboy jobbers.

What are other bloggers saying?

So that's my take. What's yours?

Alex
