No New Story Today

Guys,

Well, it’s happened. I did not compete a new story in time, For over 5 years, I kept a regular schedule with a new story on the 1st and 15th. I won’t claim this was planned. Work has been very stressful for the past two weeks. I have a story started, but just couldn’t  get the motivation to work on it. So, I’m not sure when I’ll get back with stories but I do plan to do it soon.

I didn’t want to leave people wondering or worrying. Everything is fine in the larger scale. Just busyness and business got in the way.

Alex

  1. I just went through a similar period, and it's not the first time it's happened this year. I was in the middle of writing a match review along with a "blogaversary" post and just had to walk away for a while. I even put any new KSW stories on indefinite hold. I can't really recall any time I've been just so blank when it comes to my blog. Come back when you are ready, your readers will be right here for you :)

    1. Thanks. It’s kind of a relief actually because I’ve come really close over the past year, finishing stories at the last minute. But I forced myself to finish things just to keep the schedule going. Now, I can chill and focus.

    2. Yes, chill and focus! I love the relief that can come from breaking habit and not being enslaved to self-imposed restrictions. And remember--and I mean this in a nice way--you don't "owe" us anything. :)

    3. Self-imposed is a good point. I think I set myself up because I was so obsessed with getting to 200 stories. Once I did that, I kind of crashed. It doesn’t help that I haven’t taken any vacation yet this year. I keep waiting for the border to open so I can get back to Canada but I think that may not happen in 2020.

  2. Yes life has a way to remind you that it is in charge and not you. Im impressed that you've been able to do this for five years. Making us wait will only make it better when it gets here. Don't rush it just to make a deadline!!

However, the mangler may feel different. The latest story featuring Alex has run into a roadblock. The mangler may just to have punish "Alex" for the roadblock and the delay!!! We will just have to wait and see. πŸ˜πŸ˜‡

  3. Please take care of yourself. We're very grateful for all your stories and would rather wait than contribute to your burnout. I hope work stabilizes and you can relax for a while.

  4. It's okay, man. 5 years with biweekly stories (and occasionally more than that) is an incredible record. Hope things lighten up for you soon. Thanks for all of your work on this site!

  5. Just being able to consistently put out stories for 5 years that are top tier entertainment still blows my mind. Take your time to relax and get your mental reset if needed. Im sure we can wait for as long as you need!

    1. Yeah, although I've been writing these stories for over 8 years, there was no schedule at Bard's group. I did it to myself with the blog (and the ever-expanding Cave universe). As if Cave time wasn't slow enough. Now, it'll be really slow. Cody will never reach 30!

    1. Thanks! I'm good. Actually, I've used my morning commute time to work out regularly, so physically, I'm probably better than I was a year ago.

  7. Yeah I think the current craziness is shaking up old routines and shirting priorities. Over the past few months, I've gone thru long periods where I just couldn't blog or didn't feel like it. Right now I've found that focus but it comes and goes and I wouldn't worry about it.

    1. Thanks for the perspective. Yeah, I was worried it but now that it's happened, I'm pretty chill about it all.

    1. There’s a great idea. Summer reruns, just like TV.

    1. Thanks for the support. It usually is fun, but definitely taking a backseat to life right now.

  10. I'm sorry to hear that life is getting in the way of your passions, my friend. The same thing is happening on my end. I really wanted to get back to writing this year, but the COVID crisis created a ton of extra work for me at my job. Fortunately, it's also forced me to figure out ways to work more efficiently, so I'll hopefully have more free time when things finally calm down.

Take care, buddy, and stay healthy!

    1. Thanks. Ironically, I'm physically healthier, because I've been eating well and working out. I've managed to lose weight during this lockdown!

I'm pretty good at time management but just got too much even for me. Hoping things calm down in a couple of weeks.
