Mindsweeper Monday: TCCW 52

TCCW are wrestling stories from two different Yahoo! groups from the early 2000's. These entries were part of a much larger universe led by other writers. There are references to characters, events and matches that will not be posted here. Titles change hands, friendships and alliances form and dissolve, all without you ever seeing it. Imagine you are watching an Indy fed sporadically.

Note: You can find ALL (?) the stories by all authors in order in their original versions HERE - thanks for the link, Mangler!

Texas College Championship Wrestling 52

Bill (HW) versus Dane (HW) versus Doug (HW) versus Mike (HW)

Chapter One

INTRODUCING FIRST, FIGHTING OUT OF THE NORTH CORNER, 21-YEARS OLD, 5'11" TALL, WEIGHING IN AT 217, WEARING THE GOLD SINGLET, HERE IS BILL!

Bill jogged down the aisle to modest applause. He was clad in his traditional yellow wrestling club singlet. Bill was a hefty man, large and definitely powerful. He was not trim and cut like many of the studs who tried out for TCCW, but was not out of shape either. He trotted down confidently, eager to face off.

Bill had a couple of wins and a humiliating loss under his belt, but he was generally part of the group of heavyweights who got little or no attention. He often wondered how he could get more action in TCCW.

Winning the four-way against Dane and Doug would be a big start. In truth, that was the reason for his agreeing to switch sets more than being a nice guy. The fourth grouping were less admired and respected than this group. Bill knew that Dane and Doug would draw way more attention than he ever could. Plus, Bill already had a win over Mike. That gave him a little bit of comfort, as well.

AND NOW, MAKING HIS WAY TO THE WEST CORNER, 20-YEARS OLD, 5'11" TALL, 6'2" TALL AND WEIGHING IN AT 226 POUNDS, WEARING THE RED TRUNKS, HERE IS DANE!

The crowd rose to their feet for Dane. He smiled at the reception and jogged down the aisle, his sizable pecs and shoulders bouncing as he approached.

Dane was a fan favorite for good reason. He and Cody had been outstanding tag champs and Dane's reign as HW Champ, although short, proved he could stand on his own. His dark good looks and big, muscular body made him a natural magnet for girls and his strength and honor made him admired by guys, too.

Dane was definitely the favorite. No one would be surprised to see him win, although Doug had beaten him in singles previously. As well, Cody and Roby's early exit showed that ex-champs had a tough road to hoe.

NEXT, MAKING HIS WAY TO THE EAST CORNER, 23-YEARS OLD, 6'1" TALL, WEIGHING IN AT 220, WEARING THE GOLD AND RED BOXING TRUNKS, HERE IS DOUG!

Doug received a mixed greeting. He was a real wild card. Easily the most ripped heavyweight in TCCW, thanks to his boxing training, some wrestlers and fans thought his boxing style was unfair and should be banned. Doug faced the same bias that the martial artists faced - boxing was not wrestling. Closed fists were against the spirit of the contest as well as the rules.

Doug had worked hard to develop wrestling skills, but he knew that whether he won or lost depended on whether or not he could break down his opponent with his fists. No one could learn what guys like Dane and Bill knew in a matter of months, no one.

AND THE FINAL PARTICIPANT IN THIS PRELIMINARY MATCH, MAKING HIS WAY TO THE SOUTH CORNER, 21-YEARS OLD, STANDING 5'11" TALL AND WEIGHING 201 POUNDS, WEARING THE BLACK SHORTS, HERE IS MIKE!

The final contestant was Mike. Mike had a checkered past in TCCW. When Mike debuted, he was immediately a fan favorite because of his hard physique and incredibly well formed features. He had won and lost, been a fair, honest competitor and a good sport, too. However, he had shown signs of a temper.

But, ultimately, the crowd's reaction was positive. They didn't care enough about Mike to hate him. He wasn't a Heavyweight Heel or a Posse member after all.

The four wrestlers shook hands in the ring and the referee explained the order or wrestling. Dane and Doug would begin, as drawn earlier. For the crowd this was good news as Dane and Doug were the premier studs in this heavyweight battle.

For Dane, though, he felt a lot of pressure to last, even if he didn't win. But he knew that Doug had taken him apart before and might be able to do so again …

Chapter Two

Dane and Doug circled before locking up. Dane knew that Doug would try to attack him with fists, but Dane was determined to beat the boxer with his wrestling prowess.

Dane and Doug locked up and Dane immediately began his game plan. The wrestlers were so close in weight that there was no immediate advantage for either, but Dane used momentum to turn Doug over and place him into a headlock.

Doug was shoved down, his head crushed between Dane's arm and side. But for Doug, this was perfect. Although painful, it gave him the opportunity to throw punches into Dane's kidneys. Doug fired off three brutal blows before Dane released the hold and moved off.

Dane walked around the ring, trying to not show how much Doug's punches had impacted him. Doug, meanwhile was trying to hide the pain in his head from Dane's torturous headlock. The two powerhouses were focused on each other, but neither wanted to make the same mistake Cody and Roby made and let this get personal.

Doug and Dane approached again and this time when they locked up, Dane immediately flipped Doug with an arm drag takedown. Doug was flipped over top of Dane and onto the mat. Dane knelt down, using his knee to pin Doug's head while cranked hard on Doug's right arm.

Dane twisted the tightly muscled limb with abandon. Doug grimaced and moaned with every twist. He rolled from side to side and eventually got to his knees. Dane held the arm bar to the side, keeping up the pressure.

Doug slapped his right shoulder to keep it from numbing. Dane pulled up on the arm, further punishing the now helpless Doug. But Dane's raising of the arm also brought him closer to Doug. Doug's broad reach was enough and he was able to twist and pound one solid punch into Dane's unflexed abs!

Dane gasped, but held onto the armbar. Unfortunately Doug fired off a second blow. Although Dane had tensed his abs in defence, he still felt the tremendous force of the punch and he had to back off.

As Dane moved back, the pressure on Doug eased. Dane pulled Doug to his feet. He pushed Doug to the ropes and used the arm bar to send him across the ring. Dane rightly surmised that Doug was uncomfortable with this type of move. As Doug came off the ropes, he was flattened!

Dane had run forward with his arm extended and clotheslined Doug down. Dane grabbed Doug's arm again and cinched in another arm bar. Dane tagged in Bill to take over and exited the ring. Bill had the arm bar now. He pushed Doug into the ropes and whipped him off again.

Doug ran into the ropes. This time, he was smarter. Doug guessed correctly by ducking the clothesline. Bill's arm sailed over top of him harmlessly. Bill turned to charge again, but Doug was in control now. As Bill spun, he came right into Doug's waiting forearm, which clubbed Bill's thick chest hard.

Bill staggered back. Doug clutched his arm and whipped him towards the ropes. The positioning was off, though and as Bill hit the ropes, he reached out and tagged Dane back in.

The referee signaled the tag, but Doug did not notice. Bill came off the tag and put his arms in front of his stomach, suspecting a low punch to his gut. Bill was right and Doug punch was deflected.

Doug turned and saw Bill bouncing off again. Bill leapt off the mat in a cross body block, his 217-pounds flying upwards. Doug dropped, letting Bill sail over him.

But Bill didn't hit the mat. Dane had re-entered off the tag and was behind Doug! Bill sailed over Doug and landed right into Dane. Bill's trajectory, though, was low by the time he reached Dane, landing across his midsection, taking the leverage from Dane.

Dane fell back, hitting the canvas hard with Bill right across his stomach. The air rushed out of Bill, who was ordered from the ring by the referee. Doug was up and confused about why Dane was in, but glad to see him struggling to his feet with an arm draped defensively over his abs.

Doug smirked. He loved working over the body. Dane was really in for it now!

Chapter Three

Dane's torso was ailing and Doug was looming, not a good combination for Dane.

With surprising speed, Doug was on top of Dane. Doug stood to the left of Dane. He dropped a knee into Dane's abs that sent him back onto the mat. Doug used the moment to put one hand on Dane's heaving right pec and his other on Dane's right leg.

Doug used his weight to hold Dane down as he initiated a series of short knee drops into Dane's midsection. Dane grunted as the cumulative impact took its toll.

Dane pushed up and threw Doug off him. He scrambled to his feet only to face a charging Doug. Doug drove his shoulder into Dane and sent him into the corner hard! Dane gushed as his air left him. Doug took the opportunity to fire in two big shots into his abs. Dane sagged lower in the ropes.

Doug lifted his knee upwards as the referee reached five in his count. Dane doubled over, his actions betraying his pain. Doug moved to the corner and tagged Mike. Mike slipped into the ring. As Doug was exiting, Mike shook his head. Mike moved to Dane and grabbed his short hair, pulling him from the corner.

The referee was at two when Mike returned, Dane's arms pinned behind him in a chicken wing maneuver. Doug took the hint and threw a vicious series into Dane until the referee reached five. It was the longest five-count of Dane's life as he was double-teamed.

The cruel ab work had done it though. When Doug moved off and Mike released the hold, Dane collapsed to his knees, his arms wrapped around his body. Dane was no longer concerned with hiding his pain. It was obvious and Dane knew that every assault he faced would now be focused on his abs.

Mike moved in front of the bent over Dane. He positioned Dane's head between his legs and lifted Dane up. Showing remarkable strength, Mike flipped Dane over into an over-the-shoulder backbreaker. Dane moaned, but Mike was not looking for a submission. He knew from training with Dane that Dane's back was tough.

Mike moved sideways then charged the corner! As he did, he pulled Dane down and forward. When they reached the corner, Dane was in front of Mike, upside down. The top turnbuckle slammed into his abs, his feet whipping forward over the top rope. Mike used all 201 of his pounds to crush Dane in the corner.

When Mike backed off, Dane hung limply, his abs aching like crazy. Eventually Dane lost his grip. When he did, he fell to the mat hard and rolled onto his back. Dane felt Mike dragging him by his ankle to the middle of the ring.

Dane knew he was in deep trouble as he lay there devastated and unable to move. Mike tagged Doug again and again forced Dane up. Mike presented Dane to Doug for another round of punching bag, where Dane was in the unfortunate position of the bag.

By the time the referee reached five, Dane's abs were red and broken. The muscles quivering from every blow. Doug tried for the cover, but Dane managed to raise his shoulder. Doug tagged Bill in and the two men stomped Dane's abs for another long five-count. Bill tried the pin, but Dane showed a lot of stamina.

Bill rolled Dane over and placed his knees into Dane's back. He clutched him under his chin and at his ankles. Bill rolled back, stretching Dane out for all to see. The move was impossibly painful. Dane refused to submit, but he wanted to.

Bill bounced his knees, but Dane withstood the assault. Bill released him, realizing he was not getting the submission. Bill tagged Mike again. Bill grabbed Dane's ankles and held them down as Mike climbed to the top. Mike leapt off with a big flying elbow!

Dane's eyes nearly flew out of his head when Mike hit. Dane coughed violently and Mike made a motion with his hands that everyone understood.

It was over.

Chapter Four

The match had been three-on-one for over ten minutes now and Dane, the victim of the triple teaming, was clearly ailing as he coughed, then fell back, out of it.

Mike, fresh from his flying elbow, rose from the mat and strode over to Doug's corner. Dane was helpless in the center of the ring. Doug screamed, "Pin him!"

But Mike walked over and tagged Doug instead. Mike smiled and said, "Should be your honor, bud. You did it with those awesome fists!"

Doug smiled, his anger dissipating. Doug slipped between the ropes to get Dane in an ab claw. He knew that was all he needed to do to put him away. Cody, Dane and Pat - all gone first in their matches. It was perfect.

Mike held Doug up by standing in front of him and moved in, obviously to whisper something. Across the ring, Bill knew Mike was scheming and sensed it was about him. Doug would probably be open to a partnership to get Bill. Bill's face showed a bit of worry.

Mike faced Doug and put an arm around his collarbone. He stepped in close and said, "Those punches of yours are way too good, bud. Way too good."

Suddenly, Mike tightened his hold on Doug's shoulder. Mike pulled back hard and fast, snapping them to the mat! Doug came crashing forward, shocked at Mike's quick move.

Doug's unprepared body hit the mat fast and hard, his face planted onto the hard canvas and his jaw slammed up by Mike's arm under his chin. Mike rolled over, dragging the stunned Doug with him. The ref was counting Mike to five, but Mike ignored it.

Mike grabbed Dane's wrist and dragged him the one foot closer to cover Doug. Mike hopped out of the ring, jumping over the top rope and turning to see the count.

The referee dropped and started to count. ONE!

Doug was foggy and pretty much out of it. He writhed slightly, but Dane's weight was enough to keep his shoulders down. TWO!

Doug managed to thrust his leg out and it fell on the bottom rope. The crowd yelled for the ref to look, but Mike kicked Doug's foot back to the mat. The referee looked up, but saw nothing to stop the count. THREE!

Mike closed his fists and said, "Yes!"

Across the ring, Bill was shocked. He was happy to see Doug go, knowing that Doug could have broken him as easily as he broke Dane, but the way he was eliminated stunk. Bill looked at Mike who had a big grin on his face.

The referee pulled Dane up. Dane was awake and realized what had occurred. He couldn't believe it. The referee told him to go to a neutral corner and wait, as Mike and Bill would have to face off. Dane nodded, eager to take a break.

Doug was sitting up, with a headache, but his daze cleared away. He was furious at Mike. He stood up and lunged at Mike, but the wily blond hunk hopped to the floor below, out of reach. Mike said, "Sorry, Doug, but take it like a man. It's a compliment. Can't have you continuing on."

Doug was irate. He shouted at Mike, "I'm going to get you for this! You've seen nothing compared to what's in store for you!" He complained to the referee that his foot had been kicked, but it fell on deaf ears. The referee ushered Doug out. Doug focused on Mike the entire walk down the aisle.

The referee invited Bill and Mike into the ring to square off.

Interlude: In the Back

The first wrestler was out of the match and the action was about to resume.

Doug had calmed down a little, but not much. He kept saying, "I'm going to get him. I'm going to get him."

Anton and Bastian talked to him as soon as he came through the curtain. Bastian was pissed. He thought Doug had a great shot to face him and Anton in the finals. That would show everyone where the talent was.

For his part, Anton was not especially disappointed to see Doug gone. Doug's style would have been hard for Anton to handle right now. Anton was recovering from his match and the post-match activity that had caused most of the damage.

A few feet away, Cody and Pat were watching Dane. They were happy to see him continue, although he had taken a considerable beating. Pat said, "Hey, he's still in it. And Bill won't trust Mike, now, so it's not like they'll gang up on him."

Cody nodded. He said quietly, "If I were Mike and Bill, I'd want to keep Dane around for the final fall. Whoever gets control should try and put the other guy away. Dane might get lots of time to recover."

Outside, watching from the crowd, Lon and Steve were still hanging out. Showered and cleaned up from their match, Steve was admiring Mike's deviousness. "I like it. I didn't know Mike had it in him."

Lon smiled, "I did. He's a cocky guy on campus. Surprised it took him this long to come around. Might be cool to have a third Blond Bomber, eh?"

Steve nodded. He did not want to commit to anything. He was still Posse, but he was talking to Lon about forming another group. Steve wanted to be ready with plenty of backup if Kevin cut him loose.

It never hurt to have allies, just in case …

Chapter Five

One man had been eliminated and he was definitely a tough one. The other men felt some relief over making past the first hurdle, especially given the unpredictability of the first out in the other matches.

Mike and Bill were set to square off. The two men were friendly, but Mike had some resentment for Bill. Bill had demolished Mike in a one-sided match a few months back. Mike had lasted 28 minutes in the match, but had never really contended. He had just showed a lot of endurance.

Now, he wanted to show a lot more.

In the corner, Dane was draped on the top rope. He was aching, but his resolve to continue the fight was strong. Dane was not upset about the first fall. He respected the other men and knew that their triple teaming was because he was tough, not a slight. He also had no idea really how the pin had occurred. He had to assume Doug screwed up somehow, but he really didn't know.

Bill outweighed and outmuscled Mike by a substantial margin. Mike's 201-pounds was lean and his torso ripped. Bill was much bigger and more solid. His muscles were big, but undefined. The two studs circled.

When Bill stepped forward, Mike thrust his boot out with authority, catching Bill in the midsection.

No reaction.

Mike stepped back in shock. Bill had a slight smile as Mike realized that Bill's abs were now too tough for one kick to take him down. Bill had not relaxed during his time out of the ring. He had rededicated himself to winning.

As they moved in again, Bill lashed out with a kick of his own and Mike doubled over. His abs were hard and tight, but Bill had major power behind his blows.

Bill wrapped his arm around Mike's neck and slid his hand over Mike's lats down to his trunks. Bill grabbed a handful of the tight black bike shorts and cinched it in. Bill knelt then lifted and Mike's feet went from the mat straight up into the air.

Bill balanced Mike in the air, holding the man aloft like he weighed nothing. Bill walked towards one of the ropes, positioning himself for the eventual drop. The blood raced to Mike's head, but there was little he could do to counter. Any move he made would send him crashing onto the mat.

Mike was just about to drop his feet and see if he couldn't roll Bill over when Bill pulled him backwards! With a yell, Mike started the drop back to the mat.

The studs crashed hard, Mike's back taking the brunt of the suplex. Bill rolled off him and stood up. Mike arched his hips into the air and put a hand on his back. He moaned in pain as Bill neared him.

Showing a strong presence of mind, Mike dropped his hips and lifted his legs, kicking them out into Bill's hearty chest. Bill was surprised by the double kick and it toppled him backwards, but he kept his feet.

Mike continued rolling backwards, completing the reverse somersault and he sprang to his feet and backwards into the air. The move was fluid and fast. Mike flew right into Bill, his elbow extended and aimed at Bill's head.

Mike connected with the elbow and his entire body weight slammed into Bill, sending him crashing back with mike on top of him. The weight caused Bill to grunt. Mike rolled to the side and off Bill.

Bill shook out his head and rose to his feet. When he did, he looked for Mike. He saw him, only it was the bottom of Mike's feet that he saw. Mike had climbed to the top rope and leapt off with the perfectly executed move.

Mike's boots collided with Bill, square in the jaw! Bill toppled back hard.

Mike had a big smile on his face as he moved in. He was going to win this match, no matter what!

Chapter Six

Mike's boots collided with Bill, square in the jaw! Bill toppled back, dazed by the shock to his head. Mike knew what a powerhouse Bill was and did not want to let him recover. Mike pulled Bill to a sitting position and moved in behind him. Mike locked on a sleeper, slapping it on with authority.

Bill swung his arms uselessly as Mike closed the grip, tighter and tighter, cutting off the blood flow to his head. Mike had the tight hold locked on and watched the ref check for a choke. The hold was legal.

Bill kept struggling, eventually pulling Mike forward, onto his back. Mike held on tightly. He kept the move cinched in as he rode Bill's back. Bill was on hands and knees, trying to rise. His stomach was rising a falling rapidly as he breathed harder and harder. Bill's face was bright red as Mike tightened his grip even further!

Mike allowed his arm to slide down a little, leaving the chin and wrapping around the throat. With Bill in the position he was, the referee would have trouble seeing the choke.

Bill started rising, but Mike used the opportunity to wrap his legs around his torso. He then pulled hard to the right, twisting the weakened Bill off his hands and knees and over onto his back!

Bill was face up on top of Mike, who had moved the hold from a choke to a sleeper. Mike also had the tight body scissors clamping down around Bill's solid midsection. Bill was sweating profusely, his face red and his concentration fading. Breathing was a chore and he knew that he was in serious trouble.

Bill's thick arms flailed helplessly. He closed his eyes, but quickly opened them, knowing that sleep was the enemy. Bill could feel Mike's lean legs wrapping tighter and tighter like a python, constricting more and more with every breath.

Bill reached down and tried to separate them, but he could not. Mike's ankles were locked, his legs like vice-grips.

Under Bill, Mike was grinning like a Chesire Cat. He had accomplished his goal. He had avenged his loss to Bill and now was entering the final fall against a weakened opponent. Mike could not wait to take out Clay in the next round.

Bill bounced up and down, trying to force Mike to release the hold, but Mike's lean muscles were hard like bricks. He could not be broken down by the 217-pounds atop him.

Bill's breathing was labored and his stomach expanded and contracted slower and slower. Bill's bulging chest was still, no air making it to his big lungs.

Bill's arms had stopped fighting Mike's legs. They fell limp to the sides. Bill's legs had stopped thrashing. They lay spread eagle in the ring, completely deflated.

The referee lifted Bill's arm three times and watched it fall to the mat three times. He signaled the bell and ordered Mike to release the hold. Mike let Bill go and pushed him roughly off him. Bill rolled over without resistance. Mike stood up and went to the corner opposite Dane.

Mike smiled at Dane. He pointed at Dane and signaled him, as if saying, "It's just me and you."

Dane smiled back, happy to be up against Mike, a friend. He acknowledged Mike's signal as a friendly gesture and Mike smiled even more broadly.

The referee had Bill awake and was rolling him under the ropes. Brian was the only one to offer their assistance and the heavyweight helped Bill to the back. Bill's head was throbbing from the sleeper and he staggered to the curtain.

When Bill reached the back, he said, "Wow, I can't believe it. He handled me as easily as I handled him a few months ago. 'Course I didn't have to choke him to do it."

Brian shrugged and sat Bill down. Brian said, "Just goes to show you. Anyone can beat anyone on a given night and some guys will do anything to win. And those guys usually do."

Chapter Seven

Mike had disposed of Bill without involving Dane, something for which Dane was grateful. Dane slowly slipped between the ropes and moved in to face the impressive Mike.

Dane was surprised that it was Mike he was facing, as was the crowd, but Dane was glad that it was now guaranteed that he or one of his friends would be in the final round. The bell sounded and the two remaining studs circled.

Dane offered his hand to Mike. He smiled and said, "Great job, Mike. May the better guy win."

Mike smiled back. He took Dane's hand and shook it. Dane's larger paw engulfed Mike's, but Mike's was the tighter grip. In one move he pulled Dane close and rammed his knee into Dane's still aching abs! Dane buckled over and tried to pull away, but Mike would not release the grip.

Mike pulled Dane forward again and rammed his knee up for the second time. Dane bent over and Mike, still holding Dane's now-limp hand, moved behind him.

Mike wrenched on Dane's arm as he wrapped it around Dane's neck. Dane's right hand was now tightly over his left shoulder. Mike pulled back hard, bringing Dane roaring back, toppling him onto the mat!

Dane crashed back on his shoulders, his head hitting hard, his thick neck aching as his own arm had been used to clothesline him down. He reached his left hand back to rub his head, but Mike held onto his right hand.

Mike held Dane's arm up and then dropped down, slamming his leg atop Dane's powerful bicep. Mike rose and stomped Dane's red abs, pounding them with his boots relentlessly. Dane was moaning in pain as Mike ripped through his weakened muscle wall like it was paper.

Dane was still reeling from Mike's ambush, but he was a veteran in TCCW and regained his focus. Tears were welling up in his eyes from the pain. Finally Mike stopped stomping, but Dane barely realized it as the pain persisted.

Mike smirked at his handiwork. He felt no guilt. Sure, he and Dane were friends outside the ring, but in the ring it was every man for himself. Mike knew that Dane would understand. "Besides," Mike thought, "if not for me, Dane would have been eliminated first. He owes me."

Mike reached down and wrapped his long fingers over Dane's face. He applied a claw and used it to pull Dane to a sitting position. Mike knelt behind the helpless ex-champ and wrapped his arms around Dane's neck. He slapped on the identical sleeper that had put Bill out of the match.

Dane felt Mike's arms wrapped around Dane's neck and started to choke Dane hard. The ex-TCCW champ was struggling in futility in the ring, his arms clawing at Mike's arms to break the hold.

Mike would not relent; he only tightened his already crushing grip. Dane tried to pull Mike's hands from his head, but they were locked tightly.

After watching Bill suffer, Dane knew that his opportunities for escape were limited. Mike knew how to get the most out of the hold and Dane would have to try his best!

Chapter Eight

Dane was helpless in the sleeper and the referee checked his arm for the first time. It fell twice, but Dane held it up on the third try.

Dane's limp arm emboldened Mike. He knew that he was close. He only had to close the deal. Dane's bulging muscles were throbbing as they craved more oxygen, but none was coming as Mike let the sleeper slip into a choke.

The referee warned Mike, who feigned ignorance. He reasserted the sleeper, knowing he didn't need to choke Dane out. The pressure on the back of his head was putting him out just fine.

Dane rolled to the side, pulling Mike with him. Mike followed without releasing his grip for even a second! When Dane reached hands and knees, Mike straddled his hips and locked on a body scissors!

But Dane was ready. When Mike's feet left the mat to wrap him up, Dane pushed up, using his powerful legs and arms to rise up. Mike kept the sleeper on and the scissors, trying to apply more pressure.

Dane saw the corner opposite him and knew where he needed to go. He grabbed Mike's legs under the hamstrings to keep him in position and charged back!

Mike tried to let go, but Dane had his legs. Like it or not, Mike was trapped in the piggyback and was slammed into the corner hard! Dane's 224-pounds of muscle crushed down on Mike's lean frame as he was squeezed between the irresistible force of Dane and the immovability of the corner turnbuckles!

Mike's grip released and Dane fell forward to his hands and knees. Behind him, Mike hung limply on the ropes. But Mike knew he had to move. He could see Dane's ass before him and looked up Dane's powerful back. The muscle stud was obviously hurting.

With tremendous willpower, Mike pushed up on the ropes and lifted himself to a standing position. He went up to the second rope. Mike bounced twice and leapt off, landing his butt on the small of Dane's back hard!

Dane collapsed under the weight with a big crash! His arms and legs went out from under him and he hit hard on his battered torso! The air that Dane had managed to gather up left him again. Mike bounced a couple of times to inflict maximum damage then stepped off.

Dane crawled desperately away, trying to move from Mike's cruel assault. But Mike was unrelenting. He was not about to let Dane up. This match was about to end now. Mike grabbed the waistband of Dane's trunks and held the bigger stud in place. As Mike held Dane firmly in place, he hammered two fists into the small of Dane's back. After the first punch, Dane fell flat to the mat, only to be dragged up by his spandex gear for a second punch.

Dane was flat on his ailing stomach when Mike flipped him over. Mike reached down to lift Dane up off the canvas. As he did, Dane reached up and seized Mike around his neck. He yanked down, rolling Mike up in a small cradle.

The referee counted on Mike - ONE!

Mike's legs flailed wildly, but Dane's large arms kept him tightly wrapped. TWO!

With panic set in, Mike went crazy to free himself, but Dane was too strong! THREE!

The match was over and Dane released a shocked Mike. Dane rolled away and tried to rise. He was exhausted and terribly sore, but he was pleased with his win.

The finals were nearly set. Anton, Clay and Dane now awaited one more person. Either Bastian, Jake, Lance or Jackson would join them.

Interlude: After the Third Match

The third match had been as much of a shock as the first two, although no one doubted that the winner would be a formidable opponent for Rusty.

In the ring, Mike was screaming at the referee. He kicked the ropes and threw a large temper tantrum in the center of the ring. Mike was going crazy, but the referee ignored him.

Dane had rolled out of the ring as he had been unable to stand on his own. His ab muscles were so tight that he looked like an old man, hunched over. The referee exited the ring and raised Dane's hand. Bill and Doug came out to congratulate Dane. They saw Mike watching them, his hands on hips, his chest rising and falling quickly as he tried to settle down. Mike had a look of utter contempt on his face.

Both were more than pleased to see Mike lose. Doug pointed at Mike and said, "I'm going to get you."

Mike felt no fear, only anger. He didn't care about the boxer. He cared about his cheap loss! He should have won! Mike said, "Any time, Doug, any time."

Doug smiled. It was exactly what he wanted to hear. He and Bill helped Dane to his friends, who were working out how they were going to get Dane ready in time for the finals.

Instead of going to the locker room, Mike hopped over the ring barrier and into the crowd. He needed time to settle down. As he paced in the back of the gymnasium, he heard someone say, "Wow, you were robbed even worse than I was."

Mike turned to see Lon. Mike didn't feel like talking to anyone, but he did nod in response. Mike paced to the back. He walked the halls with Lon following. Lon said, "Of course Dane is in the match. Once Cody was gone, Dane had to be in."

Mike said, "Dane wouldn't even have been there if not for me! I took Doug out and I kicked his foot off the bottom rope! I saved Dane's ass. I choked Bill right out of the match. Then I beat Dane's ass. He's nothing! That's MY match!"

"Ahem."

Mike turned to see Pat. Pat was sneering as he looked at Mike. He said, "When Dane finds out what you did, he's going to be pissed. Mike, we're friends. I know you're disappointed, but you can't continue with this win at all costs philosophy."

"Screw you, Pat. I beat Dane. I beat him."

"No you didn't," came a voice from behind Pat. Out stepped Clay.

Clay said, "If you beat Dane, you'd be in the finals. Quit being a suck."

Mike walked up to Clay and said, "You are so lucky. I hurt Dane bad. Lon hurt Anton bad. You figure you'll just sit back like your first match?"

Clay said, "Shut up, asshole. I deserved to win. I …"

Clay never finished his thought. Mike stepped forward, threw his arm over Clay's shoulder and pulled him forward! Mike executed the move that had put Doug out. He did it to perfection, sending Clay to the floor, hitting hard and slamming his jaw. Clay was out and Mike rolled up.

Pat stepped in, "Whoa, that's it! Get the f… ARGH!"

Lon hammered a fist into Pat's back. "Didn't get enough, Pat?"

Pat went down, his back not healed from the earlier assault. Lon took him down again. He stomped Pat's back and grabbed his legs. Lon stepped back, pulling Pat's legs up. As Lon sat back, Pat was left begging for mercy, but Lon just laughed.

Pat was nearly crying as Lon tortured him again. Meanwhile, Mike simply prodded Clay with his foot. Clay stirred, only to receive a stomp and an elbow drop to his back. Mike hammered Clay's splayed out body with impunity.

Mike said, "Anton and Dane are hurt, seems like I'm just evening the odds, loser! This is just a taste of what I'm going to do to you when we meet in the ring!"

There was no one to save either Pat or Clay.

Only when Mike and Lon got bored did they stop. They walked off laughing, leaving Clay and Pat devastated in the hallway.

The fourth match was beginning. Terry, who was facing Ryan after that match looked for Clay, surprised he wasn't watching Jackson. Terry shrugged and thought, "Must be resting for the finals."

No one looked for Clay or Pat for quite a while.

THE END
