Review: Chet Chastain vs. Danny DeMented (Wrestler4Hire)

Chet's back in the cage, putting his undefeated record on the line. Who's his next victim? Why it's some nobody named Danny DeMented.

Chet Chastain vs. Danny DeMented is right in the place where I think Wrestler4Hire does its best and most unique work. It features two pro wrestlers, puts them in a familiar pro wrestling scenario in a private more intimate setting. There's nothing particularly sexual here, but it still ends up being sexy as fuck.

Undefeated in a cage?
Chet might not be ready for Danny.

Chet's one of my faves of the past few years. It feels like he came into our world fast, made a ton of videos then left just as quickly. Luckily, I have his extensive back catalogue to keep me happy. He's versatile in terms of roles, but there are two consistent things about him. He's always cocky and he loves to show off his body. I just reviewed him as a dominant heel but things are a little different here.

In this video, Chet's once again a vision in his tiny orange trunks. He's made all the more sexy by the contrasts with his heel opponent, Danny DeMented. The big beast is decked out black which covers his bulk but also highlights Chet's lean tanned muscles. I won't say there's chemistry between them, but I will say that they work well together.

Smooth sexy Chet makes the ideal victim.

Danny DeMented knows how to crush a prettyboy.

And Chet knows how to sell.

There are a lot of themes here. Big vs. small. Clothed male vs. (mostly) naked male. Beauty vs. beast. No matter how you look at it, it's a one-sided squash where the cocky prettyboy gets his ass kicked by a huge monster. It's a simple and classic scenario that those of us who grew up in the 80's know well. This was every single Saturday morning. The only differences I see are that we know the jobber much better than we did back in the day and the abuse goes on much, much longer.

After watching Chet completely humiliate Ty and listening to him bragging about being undefeated in the cage (up to 19-0), I feel like Danny is pretty much justified in mauling the hunky young punk. Chet knows he's in trouble early, but with the door chained and the cage in place, there's not much he can do. The beatdown is brutal, physical and relentless. The mountainous monster has his way with the young stud and loves it.

I'm sure Chet wants to fight back,
but what would be the point?

That's a big camel by a big MAN.

Poor little Chet.

Action-wise, there's a lot of abuse. There are submission holds and a ton of body crushing moves. Danny uses his bulk to break down the boy. He throws in dirty moves which are unnecessary but they reinforce his heel persona and his dominance. Danny can do anything he wants to the handsome young stud. It really works because Chet's such an expert victim. He's a natural born seller, verbally and physically convincing us that he's scared, helpless and in pain. Plus, we know he deserves it. What goes around.

Yeah, this is why wrestling has weight classes.

Danny doesn't need to go low,
but Chet's just too irresistible.

Danny shows off his toy like it's an unboxing video.

In the end, this is another video where you instinctively know whether you will like it or not. It's well executed and the guys play their designated roles perfectly. With his looks, body and arrogance, Chet's one of my favorites to see get crushed and humiliated, especially with the broader context. Danny's a great contrasting brute to break him down so I could really get into it.

So that's my take. What's yours?

  1. Nailed it. Total classic 1980s big brutal heel vs built pretty jobber. Kind of like Sgt. Slaughter vs Ricky Nelson (although I'm not sure they ever wrestled). Sweet!
