Review: Chris Cannon vs. Nick Flex (Muscleboy Wrestling)

Full disclosure: This video was provided to me by Muscleboy Wrestling.

I was interested to see Nick Flex vs. Chris Cannon hit the mats. This is a sequel to their ring encounter, which is explicitly referenced as one guy wants to even the score and the other one wants to continue his dominance. Chris wasn't that comfortable in the ring, but I figured they'd do better on the mats and they do, although it takes some patience to get there.

Once the big men warm up, things get good.

Chris Cannon and Nick Flex are two of MBW's best discoveries. Big. Bad. Dominant. Both guys are hot muscle hunks. Both guys are rough and tumble wrestlers with a hard-hitting style. Both guys are arrogant (and deservedly so as I think both have only lost once so far). There's a lot of ego on the line and a ton of tension between the two, making them a perfect pairing for some big mat action.

Nick's really pumped for this one, with his amazing upper body and sculpted legs. He's rocking bright green trunks over a rainbow thong. We get to see both. Chris is gorgeous in pink trunks. He's powerful in a natural kind of way - big muscles but less of a bodybuilder than Nick. Cannon is especially proud of his legs, but he's got a great body from head to toe.

Ruff.

Tuff.

Buff.

I thought this review was going to go the other way for the first few minutes. At first, it's super-sloppy as the guys refuse to cooperate with each other. Nothing is sold. Punches are ignored. Slam attempts fail. I'm not sure if it was intentional or what, but it definitely had me worried. Maybe it was designed to make it feel more real or something. If so, it didn't work for me. It just felt messy. Chris' loud woo's didn't wow me either, but those decrease in frequency and volume, too.

Hope Nick warmed up before the match.

Nick tests Chris' claims about his amazing legs.

Nick must think he's a chiropractor.

Fortunately, they settle down and it does get good. After the early clumsiness, they do work together well to keep it intense and rough, but also make it an actual wrestling match. Things turn around right around when Nick unleashes a series of vicious head shots in a camel clutch. It's a wakeup call to both studs. They showcase their power with big body blows, pro moves and submission holds.

My images lean one way, but the video itself is more balanced. I just liked these moments best. The catalogue is called "The Rougher the Better" and this fits the bill. It gets really rough. Both guys get a submission and a pin, so the "winner" is in the eye of the beholder. The guy who gets the falls first or the guy left standing in the end? Your call but it makes for some hot moments during the matches.

This woke up the guys AND me.

That's a lot of man to move,
but Nick is up for the task.

Trapped!

In the end, this worked out as a good rough battle between two alpha male he-men. It takes a few minutes to get into its rhythm, but I was glad I stuck with it.

What are other bloggers saying?

So that's my take. What's yours?
