Review: Johnny Greco vs. Jesse Zane (Muscleboy Wrestling)

I wonder what streets Jesse is hanging out on where they talk about jobbers? I've already raved about Bull Barrett's sophomore video against Brendan Byers (reviewed here). Now, I've had a chance to watch his rookie opponent, Johnny Greco, in his second match against self-proclaimed MBW champ Jesse Zane. Bull crushed it in his second match. Can Johnny do the same?

Jesse: "You don't fucking know what you're in for." 

In case you've somehow forgotten, Johnny Greco is a feisty fireplug - short, muscular and proud. He's bearded, masculine and handsome with an awesome smooth body. Love his carved pecs and abs, thick muscles and broad shoulders. Just gorgeously perfect. As if he wasn't stunning enough, they put him in simple white. The guys is one of the best looking guys studs ever.

I'm especially excited that he's up against a master technician. Jesse is a very skilled wrestler, so I fully expected to see Johnny suffer hard. The MBW star comes to the mats in bright pink, possibly lulling the newbie into a false sense of optimism. Interestingly, Jesse felt imposing to me, even though his bio page says he's only 5'5" (vs. Johnny's 5'6"). Might be the angle.

Jesse: "You fell for my trap, didn't you?"

Johnny pretends to hate it but he loves it.

Jesse: "Come on, fight out of it!"

Johnny Greco vs. Jesse Zane starts out with Jesse's "word on the street" comment. He zeroes in on Johnny's bruised arms as a sign the rookie's been roughed up. The fireplug defends himself, claiming he's been kicking ass. They shake but you can see the tension early on. The match is loosely back-and-forth but Johnny is a muscle jobber and suffers a lot more. A few hope spots can't change that.

In Johnny's defense, losing to Bull doesn't exactly make you a muscle jobber boy. Neither does losing to Jesse, who wins a lot. Leaking in your fresh white trunks while getting manhandled? THAT makes you a muscle jobber boy. Let's face it, when the camera zooms in on that fresh wet spot less than six minutes into the match when Johnny is helpless in a grapevine, there's no denying the video evidence. Later, when he's trapped in another hold, he looks positively orgasmic at times. He's a jobber.

Jesse: "Yeah, you like to lose. I can see it."

Hey, twitchy, how you doin'?

Action-wise, the most memorable stuff for me is Jesse beating, bending and breaking the muscle jobber boy. Johnny does get hope spots, but he's not at Jesse's wrestling level so you never think he's going to win. It just establishes him as a tough victim, same as when he breaks counts, extending his torture. And Johnny has a great high-pitched whimper, which just floors me when guys do that.

This match showcases Jesse as a creative wrestler with a strong arsenal of submission holds and positions. For a lot of the match, it's up to him to think of new ways to display the sexy Italian stallion and he does it well. I actually don't think that he uses the same submission hold twice over the 30 minutes of action. He does repeat body slams, suplexes and elbow drops but I view those as power moves that are meant to be repeated for maximum impact.

Jesse got back, too.

with this hold ... Scrappy or Johnny?

In the end, my rave for Bull vs. Johnny was justified. No sophomore slumps here. Johnny gets the mandatory welcome to MBW, ie. getting put through the wringer by Jesse Zane. Both guys play their roles really well. Jesse works as an innovative dominator. Johnny is an exciting (and excited, based on his trunks) new muscle jobber boy, one of the sexiest I've seen in a while.
