Mindsweeper Monday: TCCW 25-26

TCCW are wrestling stories from two different Yahoo! groups from the early 2000's. These entries were part of a much larger universe led by other writers. There are references to characters, events and matches that will not be posted here. Titles change hands, friendships and alliances form and dissolve, all without you ever seeing it. Imagine you are watching an Indy fed sporadically.

Note: You can find ALL (?) the stories by all authors in order in their original versions HERE - thanks for the link, Mangler!

Jessie and Jack Between Matches

After the match, Jessie finally stirred and Jack helped his brother to the back. Jack was focussed on Jessie and so the pain of a fourth loss against zero wins was delayed. Patrick came into the locker room and comforted the battered Jessie. He felt badly for them. But this just convinced him even more that these brothers need his help.

Patrick had seen a lot of good things in the ring. They were just careless and had not developed any strategy before the match it seemed. Despite being close brothers, they did not seem to work together enough.

Jessie sat on the bench and Patrick and Jack gave him comforting platitudes but Jessie wasn't interested. He said, "Doesn't matter. I don't feel badly at all. What's done is done. Meanwhile, we have another match in a week. And another one after that, too. We have to go back into that ring, in front of a lot of those same people and face two more tag teams, all the while listening to them chant "jobbers" to our faces. So what does it matter that we lost? We are jobbers, it's what we do."

Patrick and Jack sat silently thinking about that while Jessie hobbled to the shower to soak his pain under hot water.

*****

For the next week, Jessie and Jack trained hard. Jessie wanted to quit but he found he was having fun. The other guys were helpful and pleasant. Even Corwin was talking to him, which he had not for the first three days.

They learned several moves and practiced their maneuvers. Corwin and Drew were the leaders of the mini-camp; they were the experts on tag wrestling. Elton and Patrick taught Jessie and Jack wrestling and holds, but that was less important for them in the short-run.

Jessie had apologized to Jack for getting pinned. Jessie had been pinned in the first two matches; Jack was pinned in the third and now Jessie again. Jack told his brother not to apologize, because Jack knew that it was his mistake that had cost them the match. Jessie had not argued with Jack because, deep down, he secretly agreed with him. But Jessie loved his brother too much to ever tell him that.

Alan and Greg were tough. They promised to look ahead to Keegan and Ross. They were closer to their size and weren't muscle dudes. They were more like Tommy Hilfiger or Abercrombie and Fitch models. In fact, Keegan and Ross were part of a clique in the dorms called the "Tommy Boys," good looking, rich prettyguys whose main objective was to party.

It would be a better match, Jessie and Jack agreed. Neither talked about winning any more. It just made the losses more painful.

Jessie/Jack versus Keegan/Ross

After seeing the easy time Alan and Greg had with the inept brothers, Jessie and Jack, Ross was especially cocky. Ross was looking to boost his team's record. With his best friend Keegan, they had only fought once and they lost that match. Ross knew that the loss had been his fault. He had not landed any offense at all while Keegan had been on fire.

Even though they were the same size, Keegan was stronger than Ross by a fair bit. Ross hoped to make up their first loss with a strong performance in this match. He felt proud when he told Keegan he had gotten them a match with Jessie and Jack. If they won this match, it would be to his credit.

Keegan was excited to wrestle again. He had also lost to Martin in singles, mainly due to dirty tactics. Then, mainly due to Ross' poor showing, they had convincingly lost to Chris and Andy. If Ross messed up again, Keegan would find himself a new partner or go solo. The fact that he fought toe-to-toe with Martin, the winner of the Middleweight Four-Corners match, proved to him that he could cut it in TCCW. This match would be the test - could Ross cut it?

THIS MATCH IS A TAG TEAM CONTEST, ONE FALL WITH A THIRTY-MINUTE TIME LIMIT.INTRODUCING FIRST, WEIGHING IN AT 346 POUNDS, HERE ARE KEEGAN AND ROSS!

Keegan and Ross got a great reception. They were popular, smiling and great looking studs. They jogged to the ring, slapping hands with their friends and admirers on the way down. Both guys wore a baggy pair of Tommy Hilfiger boxers to the ring, reminding everyone that they were Tommy Boys, the most popular clique on campus.

They hopped into the ring and pulled off their boxers. They wore red, white and blue trunks - a navy blue waistband, then red on the left side and white on the right side. They wore tri-color boots as well. The outfits had been Ross' gift courtesy of his amex which Mom and Dad covered without question.

The gift had assuaged some of Ross' guilt about failing Keegan in their previous match. He vowed to make it up to him then. The outfits were one step; a win would soon follow.

AND THEIR OPPONENTS, WEIGHING IN AT 330 POUNDS, HERE ARE JESSIE AND HIS YOUNGER BROTHER JACK!

Jessie and Jack came in to near silence, receiving only a smattering of polite applause and a few rude catcalls. They were good looking guys but their record preceded them. The crowd wanted to see Keegan strut his stuff. They liked Keegan and Ross a lot and saw Jessie and Jack as fodder for the strong team.

Jessie and Jack were both wearing speedos this time, black and gray, respectively. Jessie had ditched the square cuts for superstitious reasons but he told Jack he wanted them to look more like a team.

Jessie and Jack tried not to let the lack of reception bother them. They knew that the crowd didn't wrestle. They accepted that Keegan was the popular guy, both on campus and in the ring.

The ref checked their equipment and reminded them of the rules. All four wrestlers shook hands and the match was about to begin.

Keegan stepped forward. He was going to start the match. Jessie decided to start out this match against Keegan. They had taken Patrick's advice, which was given to him by Drew, and both had assigned opponents for all two-on-two situations. Jessie had drawn Keegan, the stronger of the two opponents. Jessie was pleased. He worried about his brother's ability to handle the strong competitor.

The two wrestlers circled the ring a couple of times, trying to get a measure of the other. They moved in and locked up. Jessie and Keegan were virtually the same size, 5'9" tall and weighing 170-pounds and 174-pounds, respectively. But in the strength department, everyone, including Jessie, knew that Keegan was uncannily strong, having matched muscles with Martin. Jessie knew that he had to avoid strength contests with Keegan.

The two wrestlers pushed back and forth, already breaking out in a sweat from the isometric test. Keegan really wanted to slam Jessie into the corner hard and show his dominance. But he found he could not. Jessie was slyly moving and adjusting his weight, keeping Keegan off-balance. It was a trick Patrick had taught him and Jessie found he could even hold off Elton for short periods.

As a surprised and frustrated Keegan gave another forceful push, Jessie was at the end of his ability to contain the powerful Keegan. Instead of giving in, he leaned to his left and Keegan fell forward from his own momentum. Jessie drove his knee up, into Keegan's abs. Jessie drove a second one in, winding the 20-year old stud.

Jessie wrapped his arm around Keegan's head and locked on a headlock. He squeezed hard, trying to control the good-looking party guy. Jessie maneuvered Keegan around, keeping him off balance.

Keegan raised his hand to Jessie's face. He pushed back, forcing Jessie's head back but got nowhere. Finally, after his head felt like it would explode, Keegan pushed Jessie into the ropes. He whipped Jessie across the ring.

Jessie came off the ropes hard and ran right into Keegan. Keegan held his position and used his strength, driving Jessie down with a shoulder block. Jessie sprang to his feet and ran back into the ropes. Keegan raised his arm and drove forward with a clothesline.

Jessie ducked the clothesline. On his return pass, Keegan tried for a hip toss. Jessie blocked it. Keegan thrust his hand forward, driving it deep into Jessie's abs. Jessie was only slightly winded. Keegan again tried the hip toss. It succeeded and Jessie landed right on the small of his back.

Jessie scrambled up. He was beside his corner and opted to tag Jack in. Jack moved in and immediately charged. Jack charged right into a scoop slam, as Keegan planted him down hard. Keegan lifted Jack up, locking on an arm bar. Keegan tightened the armbar, dragging Jack around the ring. Keegan slammed powerful forearms into Jack's arm and shoulder, softening the tissue.

Jack winced in pain as his arm was tortured for minutes. He tried every counter he knew but could not escape Keegan's steel grip. Keegan tagged in Ross who slid in. Ross drove a foot up into Jack's locked arm, sending waves of pain through the young man.

Jack slipped out of the arm bar and moved back to his corner. He backed up and waited, getting his bearings as Ross moved forward. From behind, Jack felt a slap on his shoulder. Jessie moved in after the surprise tag. Jessie said, "Rest up that arm. I'll go now."

Jack was not impressed. He was a capable wrestler. Jessie was only a year older. Jack moved out of the ring but did it unhappily.

Jack looked upset for a moment but moved out of the ring. Ross and Jessie locked up. Jessie maneuvered Ross into a headlock. He pulled down and forced Ross to the mat. Jessie poured on the pressure. He positioned as much of his weight as possible on top of Ross, driving the air from him.

Ross managed to roll and the two wrestlers moved to their knees. Ross drove an elbow into Jessie's gut. Jessie released the headlock but quickly drove an elbow to the back of Ross' head, sending the Tommy Boy to the mat. Jessie locked on an armbar and dragged him to the corner. Across the ring, Keegan watched carefully. Ross was again not performing.

Jessie tagged Jack back in. Jack hopped onto the top rope and came down hard, slamming his forearms into Ross' shoulder. Ross withdrew his hand and clutched his arm in tight. Jack moved in and locked on a headlock. Jack tightened the headlock. He knew his thin arms didn't have a ton of power so he opened his grip then tightened, doing that quickly in short bursts. The slamming of his forearm and bicep into Ross' head was more devastating than a weak headlock ever could be.

Ross slammed his forearm into Jack's back, landing three kidney shots before Jack let go. Ross stood up; his head and arm hurting. Jack stood in front of him. Jack leapt into the air and drove Ross back with a standing drop kick! Ross was totally caught off guard and flew into his corner. Ross reluctantly tagged Keegan back in, knowing it was the right strategy but that he had not proved himself.

As Keegan came in, Jack drove a fist into his waiting abs. The air gushed out of Keegan as Jack planted him back onto the mat with an arm drag takedown. Jack dragged Keegan to the corner, holding Keegan down with an armbar and knee to his side.

Jack reached out and tagged in Jessie. Jessie came in and stomped Keegan's side hard. Jack let go at the count of five, leaving the ailing Keegan to his brother. Jessie forced Keegan to his feet and picked him up for a bodyslam! Jessie slammed Keegan down hard. Jessie tagged Jack. Jessie held Keegan by the ankles and Jack bounced over the top rope and splashed onto the party guy stud.

Jack went for the cover but Keegan lifted his foot over the bottom rope. Jack dragged Keegan to his feet. Jack threw Keegan back into the ropes. Keegan got his bearings and used his strength advantage to reverse the move and send Jack into the ropes.

Keegan yelled to the ref who turned to face him. In that moment, Ross lifted his boot and slammed it into Jack's back as he connected with the ropes. Jessie saw the move and was upset. He charged in but the ref restrained him.

Keegan moved to Jack. He placed Jack's head between his legs. Keegan reached under Jack's waist and heaved. Jack went up, spinning. Keegan drove down, powerslamming Jack to the mat. The move drew an impressed "ooh" from the crowd. They wanted to see their star, Keegan, dominate.

Jessie argued with the ref until he saw Ross sliding in without the making the tag. Jessie hopped out of the ring quickly, letting the ref go. The ref caught Ross and made him exit the ring before any double-teaming could take place.

Jessie wiped his brow. He was lucky on that one. He had to remember that Jack was a capable wrestler. He did not always have to protect him. Jessie leaned over the ropes and yelled, "C'mon Jack! You can do it! C'mon!"

Jessie knew they had been competitive for a while now. Keegan was softened up. If he and Jack could just get a combination going, they could pull this out!

Jessie knew they had been competitive for a while now. Keegan was softened up. If he and Jack could just get a combination going, they could pull this out!

Keegan also recognized that he was ailing. He tagged Ross back in, hoping Ross would do something with Jack. Ross jumped to the top rope as Keegan held Jack's feet. Ross leapt off the turnbuckle and drove an elbow into Jack's abs. Jack tried to roll but Keegan held him firmly in place.

Ross stood up and stomped his boots into Jack's abs. He flipped Jack onto his stomach. Ross planted both his knees in the small of Jack's back. He grabbed Jack under the chin and at the ankle and rolled back. Jack was suspended over Ross' knees, his torso stretched out. Every sinew and muscle in the wrestler's torso was stretched! The painful submission move had Jack reeling. His hips and abs were thrust up in the air as his ankles and head brushed the mat.

Jack moaned, his back and abs softening with each second. His long arms flailed helplessly. Jack reached under his chin and pried Ross' hand from his neck. Jack slid off the bigger wrestler's knees and laid out on the mat, his young torso in painful spasms.

Ross forced Jack to his feet, lifting the weakened wrestler up. Ross grabbed the waistband at the back of Jack's trunks. He slammed a forearm into the small of Jack's back. Jack moved forward, only to be snapped back into another forearm by his trunks. Ross landed four hard shots before jack could extricate himself.

Ross was still behind Jack. He slid his arms under Jack's and locked his fingers behind Jack's head. Ross cinched in the full nelson and ran forward. Jack felt himself carried forward. His wide-open abs and chest slammed hard into the turnbuckle as Ross drove him into the corner.

Keegan reached out and tagged back in. He fired fists into Jack's abs, showing off his great strength. The earlier arm torture had weakened the strong guy, but his punches were still packed with power!

Ross released the full nelson and Jack dropped to his hands and knees gasping for air. Keegan showed off his power, lifting Jack straight up into a reverse sidewalk slam. Jack's front was planted down hard. Keegan went for a cover and got a two-count. Keegan pulled Jack up. He whipped Jack into the ropes. Jack extended hi long arm and met Jessie outstretched hand. As Jack came off, he ducked under Keegan's clothesline.

Keegan turned to get Jack on the way back, not knowing the tag had been made. This time, Jack carried through, learning from his past mistake. He ducked under Keegan's second big clothesline. As Keegan turned, he was met with a big flying cross body from Jessie. Jessie's 170-pound body flattened him down hard. Jessie got a two-count before Keegan lifted his shoulder.

Jack was back on the apron. A surprised Ross called out to Keegan to hold on. Jack called out to Jessie to keep up the punishment. For the first time, people in the audience thought the jobbers might be for real!

Jack was back on the apron. A surprised Ross called out to Keegan to hold on. Jack called out to Jessie to keep up the punishment. For the first time, people in the audience thought the jobbers might be for real!

The next five minutes were spent punishing Keegan mercilessly. Jessie stomped down hard on his abs then pulled him up. Jessie reached between Keegan's legs and lifted the 174-pound prettyboy up. Jessie carried Keegan back to the enemy corner before slamming him down hard.

Jessie grabbed Keegan's legs. He quickly flipped Keegan into a Boston Crab! Jessie had a tenuous grip and Keegan was already powering out. But Jessie only needed to hold him for a few seconds. Jack reached out and tagged his brother. Jack then launched himself over the ropes and came down with a leg drop on the back of Keegan's neck! Jessie let Keegan's legs go and hopped out of the ring.

Jack pulled Keegan to his feet. It was not easy but Jack was not without strength of his own. He impressed the onlookers with his ability to bring the wobbly Keegan up. Jack turned Keegan around and placed the back of Keegan's head onto his shoulder. Jack dropped down, delivering a picture perfect neck breaker.

Keegan writhed on the mat. Jack picked him up again and thrust him into the corner. Jack drove his knees into Keegan's abs. The Tommy Boy was grunting with every blow, sagging lower and lower. Keegan dropped to one knee after the flurry of blows. Jack reached over Keegan and tagged Jessie back in.

Jessie and Jack pulled Keegan up. They stood on either side and wrapped Keegan up for a Russian Leg Sweep. Instead of falling back though, they surprised everyone by forcing Keegan forward, driving him down face first into the mat!

Jack exited the ring and Jessie went to work. He pulled Keegan's damaged right arm back in a hammerlock. He wrenched Keegan's hand further and further up his back. The crowd was cheering for Keegan to hold out but a few fans had switched sides, jumping on the bandwagon as Jessie and Jack looked for real!

Jessie drove his knee into Keegan's shoulder and arm. He and Jack had planned on working on Ross but with Keegan now at their mercy, Jessie felt pretty confident. They were systematically handling their opposition's strongest member!

Things were finally going their way. Jessie continued the arm punishment as Keegan slapped the mat. Jessie released his grip. As Keegan struggled to find his corner, Jessie tagged Jack back in. The brothers caught Keegan before he even got halfway across the mat.

Jack put a quick full nelson on Keegan and Jessie delivered two punches before the ref told him to leave. Jack tightened the full nelson, further damaging the aching shoulders of Keegan.

Keegan moaned but would not submit. Jack lifted the shorter muscle stud into the air and turned the full nelson into a modified slam, planting Keegan's back on the canvas. Jack hopped to the top rope. He spread his arms and then dove for the splash!

Keegan raised his knees and jack landed hard onto the knees and shins of Keegan. Jack lost all his air. Worse still, he rolled away from Jessie towards Ross. Keegan struggled to make the tag as did Jack. Keegan was closer and made the tag first. Ross entered in, thanking the powers that be that Keegan had survived the onslaught.

Across the ring, Jack stretched for the tag, only inches away ...

The crowd was on their feet as this surprisingly exciting and hard-fought match got closer to a resolution. The jobbers had turned many to their side, but old loyalties die-hard. As Ross entered the ring, supporters fell of the Jessie/Jack bandwagon.

Jack was only inches from the tag when he felt Ross' hands around his waist. Ross lifted, raising Jack in a belly-to-back suplex. Ross fell back and Jack crashed back hard onto his head.

Ross lifted Jack to his hands and knees. He picked Jack up into the air and dropped him in a gutbuster! When he pushed Jack off his knee, he planted his boots hard into Jack's abs. He had worked on them earlier and went to work again.

Ross felt powerful for the first time since he joined TCCW. Keegan was ailing in the corner. It was all up to Ross to save the match. Ross felt his adrenaline racing. He grabbed a handful of Jack's hair and dragged him to his feet.

Ross raised Jack up, dropping him in a backbreaker across his knee. Jack's long, lean body was stretched out hard. Ross drove elbow after elbow into Jack's abs. Jack convulsed on the Tommy Boy's knee, crying out each time an elbow struck.

Ross pushed his victim back onto the mat. Jack lay on the mat clutching his abs and moaning. Ross used the moment to charge Jessie and drive him off the ring apron.Ross grabbed one of Jack's wrists and dragged him back to the enemy corner. Keegan was sitting on the ring apron, still recovering. When he saw Ross dragging a helpless Jack, he stood. Ross pulled Jack to his feet. He whipped Jack into the corner. He draped Jack's arms over the top rope.

Jessie was steaming at Ross' cheap shot to him. He ran into the ring and charged Ross. The ref restrained him and forced him out. Ross kept taunting Jessie as they set Jack up.

Keegan and Ross hammered the helpless Jack in unison. Keegan slammed fists into Jack's lower back and kidneys as Ross pummeled his abs with knees and fists. Jack, caught between the two could do nothing but absorb the horrible torture!

As a fist to the back sent his hips forward, a knee to his gut sent him back. The worst was when Keegan and Ross timed their blows to strike together. Jack felt his midsection collapsing. It was all he could do to not submit right then and there.

Jessie hopped out of the ring when he saw the double-teaming. The ref turned and saw the Tommy Boys taking it to Jack. He started his five-count and the cocky studs stopped right after he reached five.

Jack slumped in the corner, completely ruined. He had barely missed the tag that would have saved the match, but Ross had ended up being the savior. Ross lifted Jack's head by the hair. He slapped Jack twice, reviving the young man and taunting him at the same time.

Ross wanted to end the match and get the win he knew they deserved. The match had been tougher than they had expected but now playtime was over!

The crowd was still on their feet and several wrestlers had come out of the back to see the surprisingly close contest. Everyone was surprised to see that Keegan had been hurt, obviously slumping on the apron.

Ross had been the star of this match. Keegan was still winded. With the ref mindful for any double-teaming, Ross pummeled Jack on his own. Ross stomped Jack's abs hard in the corner. The double-teaming had devastated Jack's abs and back. A fresh Jessie pleaded with Jack to hold on and to somehow make the tag.

Ross realized that Jack was his for the pinning. All they had to do was land one of their big moves and the match would be over. Ross said to Keegan, "Can you go?" Keegan nodded. He wanted to end this surprisingly tough match while he could.

Ross placed Jack's head back between his legs. This time when Ross lifted, he held Jack high. Jack flipped over, finding himself locked on Ross' shoulder. Jack groaned in the over-the-shoulder backbreaker. He had to clear the cobwebs from his head.Ross held Jack on his shoulder, his arms locked around Jack's lean chest. Jack's arms hung limply as his back was stretched. His head and feet got lower and lower as his spine bent more and more. Jack looked out and saw the crowd upside down. He tried kicking his feet but couldn't quite get any momentum. Ross held the compliant young stud with one arm and extended his now free hand for the tag. Keegan climbed the ropes, standing on the top rope. In one fluid move, Keegan leapt off the top rope. Keegan drove an elbow into Jack's wide-open stomach, the jobber's abs stretched to their breaking point!

As Keegan was hitting Jack, Ross let Jack slide off his shoulder. Timed perfectly, Jack fell five feet to the mat, slamming hard only to find Keegan's elbow driving him down even harder. Jack's head came up in pain and crashed back to the mat. The jobber had nothing left.

Jessie raced through the ropes but Ross blocked his way. Keegan stretched out on Jack's body. He pressed down, using his 174-pound frame to hold Jack's lithe form on the mat. The ref counted, "One, two, three."

A stunned Jessie dropped to his knees. He put his hands on top of his head and his mouth gaped open. He bent down, curling up in disappointment. Keegan and Ross slapped hands over Jack. The ref raised their hands in victory.

The match was over. It was just another loss for Jessie and Jack. They were now zero and five, the only competitors in TCCW in any weight class or division to have fought five times without a win.

Jessie slapped the mat. He stood and shook hands with Ross. When you as much practice losing as they did, Jessie figured, you should be good about it. Keegan reached down and pulled Jack up, helping him to his brother.

Jessie and Jack slid under the ropes, Jack resting limply in his brother's strong arms. Jack was tired and battered. All his energy was gone with the pin. They walked back to the dressing room, hearing more catcalls, with "jobbers" being the nicest thing they heard on the walk.

Patrick did not even bother consoling them, knowing it was the wrong time. The early losses seemed to hit Jack the hardest but now everything was weighing down Jessie, too. He would talk to Jessie tomorrow and get him motivated for their next match against Keith and Rich.

THE END
