Review: Cason vs. Loki 2 (Thunders Arena)

I went to a destination wedding last weekend. It was a beautiful ceremony and all that jazz, but five days in rural New Brunswick isn't really my thing and I'm glad to be back in a city. Unfortunately, it didn't go like my Encounters: The Wedding Crash story (no reunion with a hot buddy and no wrestling). Oh well. Before I left, I did stock up on some Thunders Arena videos in their recent buy two get two free sale.

First up is the rematch, Cason vs. Loki. This is an actual rematch, as the guys start out referencing their first match (reviewed here) which kicked off 2019 beautifully.

It's a rematch but not a remake as bros battle again.

Cason and Loki are two of my favorites. They're both gorgeous in their briefs, but in different ways. Cason is young and ripped, but a little more trim than he has been. Loki is beefier and built like a beast, thick torso, tree trunks for legs and boulders for biceps. The beefy hunk tries to be a badass, but he's too cute, calm and charming to pull it off, settling in for the better role of smiley terminator.

Loki: "You know what you did!"

Cason: "Is this because I beat your ass last time?
Trying to get your revenge, huh?"

Loki: "That's like vegan biceps."

They were awesome together last time with incredible chemistry. Their first match was a total flirt-fest. This time, things start out lighthearted again for Cason, but Loki is dead serious about wanting revenge (except when he breaks, unable to hold back his playful side). This time is definitely less about their mutual attraction and more about Loki's pure powerful domination of his rival.

Add to Loki's focused determination the fact that Cason seems to be trimming down while Loki is bulking up, and you can totally buy where this one goes. Cason starts out competitive, but ends up getting ruthlessly squashed for 18-minutes. I was impressed by the selling. Cason remains chill, but he moans and grunts, limiting his cheeky banter to suffering, which establishes Loki's overwhelming power.

Loki: "No, no, you stay there."

Loki's treating Cason like jobber trash in this one.

Cason: "I'm starting to like the pain."

Action-wise, this is jam-packed, especially for a Thunders match. They break for one flex-off, but it's short. It starts with a collar-and-elbow then mostly runs through the classics - a bearhug, camel, chokelift, crab, scissors, and sleepers. All are long-held and executed solidly. Loki toys with Cason as he wears him down, like when he bashes the young stud as he fights to rise. That's fun.

Loki: "No, you can't. They're too thick."
Cason: "I can't hear you. Your quads are too massive!"

Jobber. Trash.

Cason: "It's like I've had all the strength
sucked out of me ... by something!"

In the end, Loki is a powerful guy, so it's great to see him squash another big guy. And Cason is one of Thunders' sexiest victims, because we know he's a powerhouse, too. The dynamics all work. While I loved the first "Flirt Club" match, I'm pleased that this isn't a rehash (since I already own that one and it was perfect for what it is) and gives us a new way to enjoy these two buddies at play.
