The Cast: Who's Who (March 2019)

Guys,

Here are March models. The vintage guys are back. There were a ton of sexy musclemen back in the day, so I was really excited to use them for this T+J series. And the modern guys from the first story are pretty good, too.

Review: Flash LaCash vs. Channing Travolta (Wrestler4Hire)

I've been making my way through the soundless videos from Wrestler4Hire. In case you missed it, Cameron shot 16 videos only to discover that there is no audio. There are also some video issues, with the picture washed out. He offered them up for a song (well, if a song costs $35), but it was still a great deal. And even better was the debut of the sexy new jobber boy named Channing Travolta in five of the matches.

You're going down, jobber boy!

Review: #652 Austin Tyler vs. Axel (UCW)

I jumped the gun with my last Austin Tyler post, but not this time. This time, we have confirmation from the source that #652 Austin Tyler vs. Axel match is the last Austin Tyler match for UCW. Although the language of Axel's tweet suggests there might be a "lost match" somewhere. Until one surfaces, this video has special meaning. Is this a suitable sendoff for a star?

Review: Austin Tyler vs. Luca Ferrari (Muscleboy Wrestling)

Well, as I expected (feared?), my 2018 Cavey winner for Favorite Wrestler is winding down his career in gay-oriented wrestling videos. Austin Tyler's been a rising star for a while, but now he's officially risen too high to keep playing in our space. I first read the news on Joe's blog, but UCW has officially released their last match with him. I have purchased it, but not watched it, yet. I don't know if Austin Tyler vs. Luca Ferrari is Muscleboy Wrestling's last video with him, but it probably is.

Opposites attract as Austin battles Luca.

Guest Blogger 1: Cameron Matthews (Wrestler4Hire/Hero Hunks)

Guys,

In my Four Years post, I mentioned that I’d made an offer for guest bloggers to some of the producers I’ve interacted with. The first one to answer is Cameron Matthews from Wrestler4Hire and Hero Hunks.

I gave everyone some sample topics. When Cameron asked which ones I thought he should write about, I suggested that given his background, he might have some interesting insight on pro wrestling, its enduring appeal and finding new talent. He answered a lot, so I’ll share one section of his post this month and more next month.

Review: Scrappy vs. Tristan (Thunders Arena)

Tristan: "See these trunks? I took these from some young zipperhead with a smart mouth, a pretty face and not much else. Just like you."

Scrappy: "Was that in the 70's?"

This is officially my first Thunders Arena match of 2019. So far, I've been watching ones that I purchased last year and they sent me seven freebies last month, one of which I reviewed. Scrappy vs Tristan, however, was bought from the website in 2019. I haven't really been feeling them so far, plus Underground Wrestler was posting a lot of the same guys on their Patreon. All it took to bring me back was one look at this superstar pairing.

Scrappy: "Fuck. They're going to give me
fucking grandpa to wrestle."

Review: Elite Eliot vs. Channing Travolta (Wrestler4Hire)

One of the most interesting recent debuts at Wrestler4Hire is Channing Travolta. His name is interesting in an odd way. He's physically interesting in a hot way. Wrestling Arsenal wrote a nice article about his silent match against Garrett Thomas that showcased his hottest look.

Channing appears in five of the sixteen audio-free matches Cameron was practically giving away (just $2 and some change each - they're more now, but still a deal). I liked what I saw (but didn't hear) from him, so I was excited to finally see a Channing Travolta match with full audio.

Channing's a man right up my alley.

Heroes: Tarzan and James 3

Chapter One

"Your what?"

My lover turns his head towards me against the ornate wooden headboard, his dark chest hair matted with the sweat that covers his stout muscular body. We're relaxing after our usual intense lovemaking. I'm equally as sweaty and tired, but now I'm re-energized with shock. As I sit up quickly, the thin sheet falls away from my lean hairy body.

Me, James Porter.

Review: Calvin Haynes vs. Kirk Donahue (BGEast)

When it comes to heel turns, I feel like a good guy jobber just finally snapping is one of the classic tropes. He loses and loses then finally says, “Screw this, I’m done playing by the rules. I’m gonna do what it takes to win!” This happens a lot in tag teams when one partner just loses it and beats the crap out of his partner. It’s fun. Unless you’re the guy’s first victim.

In our part of the pro wrestling world, there are many guys switch back-and-forth from good guy to bad guy or dominant to jobber, but usually there’s no reason why. Brad Rochelle’s turn in The Contract series is the only guy I can think of who’s clearly played this out. Now, there’s another with Calvin Haynes vs. Kirk Donahue.

It's nice guy jobber vs. nice guy jobber ... or is it?

Review: Joey McCoy vs. Quin Quire (Muscleboy Wrestling)

Full disclosure: This video was sent to me by Muscleboy Wrestling.

I don't know if it's just me, but a lot of gay wrestling videos aren't great right now. I almost had nothing to review today. It's not because I have nothing on my hard drive. It's just that nothing was inspiring me. I've watched a bunch of perfectly cromulent videos, but none of them rose (or fell) to the level of being interesting enough (or bad enough) to talk about.

In a last ditch attempt to find something for a Monday post, I decided to focus my attention this weekend on MBW and BGEast, since they've been the most reliable so far in 2019. And it worked. I watched two great videos, starting with this one.

All right, boys, give me something to talk about.

Review: Braden Charron vs. Meat (BGEast)

I'm stepping back one BGEast catalogue to post about Braden Charron vs. Meat. I VOD'ed it a while ago, but my review kept getting pushed because February was so jam-packed. I've finally got an opening to post it. There are five videos I was initially interested in from catalogue 134. I've reviewed one, but four are not available on VOD yet. What usually happens is that I'll end up watching one or two more and forget about the others.

Braden's got a taste for beef as he wrecks Meat.

Review: Cason vs. Joey King (Thunders Arena)

Full disclosure: This video was provided to me by Thunders Arena.

The "tension" of this match is really relatable to me. When I'm writing stories, most of my characters are a lot younger than me. And the gap only gets wider as I age and they don't. Cody, for example, was 28 when he debuted in 2012 (80's baby) but now he won't turn 30 until 2020 at the earliest (90's baby). Someone who's first waking memory happened in the mid-1990's definitely won't use the same cultural references as I would.

In Cason vs. Joey King, things start out in the same way as Joey King is hit by the reality that his favorite Christmas movie came out 10 years before his opponent was even born.

It's Gen-X vs. Gen-Z at Thunders.

Review: Dante vs. Scrappy McNair (Muscleboy Wrestling)

Full disclosure: This video was provided to me by Muscleboy Wrestling.

Scrappy McNair has been amazing for a long time, but MBW seems to have really let him let loose in a new way. And it's more than just flaunting his mountainous and muscular butt in a jock (blue this time). The action runs longer, there's more of it, it's more intense and he gets to really show off what he's learned over the years. I like it.

Scrappy vs. Brendan Byers was an instant classic (reviewed here). How about Scrappy vs. Dante?

Dante's happy to see Scrappy at MBW.
And Scrappy's happy to see Dante.

Review: Chase Addams vs. Noah Samson (BGEast)

Chase Addams vs. Noah Samson is a tough one for me to review. Not because it's not good, but because it is non-stop sexy submissions. There are about 30 different images I could post, but in the interest of fairness to BGEast, I have to keep things limited. It's made for a lot of hard moments over the past few days (yes, pun intended) and I had to leave a lot of hot shots on the cutting room floor.

Life's good for Chase Addams in
this squash against Noah Samson.

The Cave: The Adventures of SuperStar 17

Cody’s Place.

“I don't see why I'm being punished because you took on an idiot for a sidekick, Cody.”

I'm not happy.
