Three Years

It feels like I should do an anniversary post to feed my inner narcissist, but I'm not really sure what I should talk about. Making it to one year felt huge. It was the year I created something from nothing, so I focused on numbers. Two years showed sustainability, so I focused on process. Three years? I don't know what, if anything, it actually means.

Google says that traditionally, the third anniversary gift is leather. I like that. In modern times, it's crystal/glass. Meh, I'll stick with old school leather, thank you. However, I don't think that really helps me figure out what to write in a post to mark the occasion. So, in honor of three years, I'll just ramble a bit.

Dash Decker vs. Tito Santos is the culmination of 88Wrestling's inaugural King of the Ring tournament. It features a former King against a brand new wrestler who made it past superstar Austin Cooper to make it here. I'm always down for anything Dash-related, so I decided to check this one out.

The King of the Ring concept carries over.

Review: Nick Sparx vs. Zacky & Matty (Wrestler4Hire)

In part three of my Q+A with Cameron, he told me that Nick Sparx had less than 30 minutes training before entering the Wrestler4Hire ring. It showed, but since then, he's wrestled quite a few pros and gotten a lot more experience. None of that experience is needed here as Nick faces two devious twins who just want a chance to take his hot ass down.

Review: Kayden Keller vs. Richie Douglas (BGEast)

Now that I know who Richie Douglas is, I decided I'd try another match. The Calvin/Richie match is the only one I'm interested in from the latest catalogue, so it's actually a perfect chance to look backwards. Of all the options, the most appealing was his recent match against lanky heel Kayden Keller.

So far, I've enjoyed Keller's Spotlight. Both the one-sided assault Carter Alexander’s exquisite abs and the dominant performance against feisty jobber Kirk Donahue were winners in my book. Can this make for a rare trifecta?

Who the hell is Richie Douglas?

That's what I thought when I saw the BESTIES winners for this year. It's like when some obscure artist wins at the Grammys, except I don't write a music blog. I write a wrestling blog. Shouldn't I know who this guy is? Anyway, turns out there's a Richie Douglas who has wrestled 8 matches at BGEast, starting a few years back in catalogue 104.2. Huh.

This veritable unknown (to me) won in two categories: Top Babyface and Best Submission with Kayden Keller. And more people voted for him in Best Body than Carter Alexander and Mitch Colby. That last bit is shocking in my opinion, but to each his own. Either way, Richie Douglas vs. Calvin Haynes became the perfect chance to check him out. I love me some Calvin, so I would've bought this anyway.
