Review: Captain Flagg vs. Assassin (BGEast)
I'm doing this review a little differently. I've watched this 34-minute video featuring two hot masked studs twice. However, six of the ten images come from two specific moments in the action representing just under five minutes of total video time. Everything that happens before these moments is important to making them what they are, but these are the two scenes that I just love, love, love. BGEast knows how to do masks and Captain Flagg vs. Assassin is a great example.

Review: Calvin Haynes vs. Blake Starr (Wrestler4Hire)
Full disclosure: This video was provided to me by W4H MAX.
Note: This review was written prior to W4H MAX shutting down and the videos being moved to Wrestler4Hire. I didn't feel like re-writing or delaying the post. Apparently Cameron came to the same conclusion as me.
Wrestler4Hire's other spinoff, W4H MAX, describes itself as "the dark, dirty, twisted twin of Wrestler4Hire". I guess MAX is in the eye of the beholder, because I could see thing going a lot farther, but they sent me a coupon for two videos, so I figured I'd check it out. From what I've seen, the big difference is that the guys wear thongs and/or wrestle in oil, both of which don't seem like a giant leap from the regular Wrestler4Hire website.
Anyway, I picked two completely different videos to see what was up. One is a simple, story-free mat match featuring Calvin Haynes facing Blake Starr. The other, which I haven't watched yet, is a domination squash featuring 6'3"/225-lbs Joey Nux getting crushed by 3'9"/90-lbs Ricky Vegas. I think I'll need to be in the right mood for that second one.

Review: Butch.J vs. Stefan (Wrestlingmale)
After a successful first purchase from Wrestlingmale (reviewed here), I went back for more as soon as I saw this matchup. It features the impressive (albeit awkwardly named from a typing standpoint) Butch.J from that first match against a very familiar and very sexy stud. Stefan is his third moniker, but a stud by any other name still looks hot as heck. So, how did my second WM video go?

Review: Calvin Haynes vs. Richie Douglas (BGEast)
Who the hell is Richie Douglas?
That's what I thought when I saw the BESTIES winners for this year. It's like when some obscure artist wins at the Grammys, except I don't write a music blog. I write a wrestling blog. Shouldn't I know who this guy is? Anyway, turns out there's a Richie Douglas who has wrestled 8 matches at BGEast, starting a few years back in catalogue 104.2. Huh.
This veritable unknown (to me) won in two categories: Top Babyface and Best Submission with Kayden Keller. And more people voted for him in Best Body than Carter Alexander and Mitch Colby. That last bit is shocking in my opinion, but to each his own. Either way, Richie Douglas vs. Calvin Haynes became the perfect chance to check him out. I love me some Calvin, so I would've bought this anyway.

Review: Bruno the Beast vs. Steve Tanner (Muscleboy Wrestling)
Steve Tanner is kind of like this year’s Biff Farrell. He's a big, seemingly capable wrestler who could be tough, but fate has cast him as a jobber. In Biff’s case, I think it was his all-American good looks and fireplug physique that just looked so poundable. In Steve’s case, I'm 100% convinced that it's his preference. After watching multiple videos with him, the guy likes being dominated. If he doesn't, he's an amazing actor.

Review: Beauxregard vs. Calvin Haynes (BGEast)
You know the old expression, “it's not you, it's me”? People never mean that. Like never. Until now. In this case, I really do mean it. It's 100% me. In my excitement over this BGEast pairing, I jumped on it, failing to notice one little detail. It's a Wrestle Worship video. Yeah, I really wanted to see these two in a match. Just not this one. However, I'm a big enough man to admit that it's my fault, not theirs. It's branded right. The description is right.

Review: Calvin Haynes vs. Nino Leone (BGEast)
Not only did I almost not review Calvin Haynes vs. Nino Leone from BGEast, I almost didn't watch it. It's basically the same story as MBW's match Jake Zane vs. Steve Tanner, which I reviewed here. Obviously both feature the same hairy muscle hunk, but in both he arrogantly dominates then gets his humiliating comeuppance from a smaller opponent. I wasn't sure if there was really anything to say about this. It's like Calvin has his thing, which is letting smaller guys manhandle him.
However, after watching it, there are some differences and I have a preference. So I figured that was worth a post.

Review: Jake Zane vs. Steve Tanner (Muscleboy Wrestling)
TRIGGER WARNING: ANTI-GAY LANGUAGE
You might notice the above warning. I got the idea from a comic book message board that I frequent. If they post offensive content, they give you a "trigger warning" so that you can decide if you want to look. I debated between hate speech or homophobia, but I wanted something that doesn't connote intent by the producer or performer. Anti-gay language feels more like an objective fact. It's not debatable that the language is used, regardless of the intent.
If you've been a follower of this blog for a while, you know that I strongly dislike this. It has impacted my willingness to purchase from certain companies and my enjoyment of certain videos. I have been choosing not to review certain videos because of it. I know some of you agree with me and I know many of you don't.
This isn't a debate, it's how I feel about it. Feel however you like.
Certainly gay-oriented wrestling video producers continue to prominently feature this kind of language in their products, even though it demeans their primary audience. Guido Genatto can't stop calling everyone a queen. UCW guys have been loving the 'no homo' stuff. And in this particular video from Muscleboy Wrestling, Jake Zane takes it up a few levels at 13:39, insulting a helpless Steve Tanner by calling him a pussy f*****.

Review: Jonny Firestorm vs. Calvin Haynes (BGEast)
Jonny Firestorm vs. Calvin Haynes from BGEast attracted my attention right away. I always consider Jonny matches, but it was his opponent that made this a must-buy. Surprising, since his debut was in a pool match, which normally doesn't interest me at all. I didn't even take notice of hunky Calvin Haynes, but fortunately, Bard wrote a great post about his debut ("Come with Me Big Boy"). I took the plunge, so to speak, and ended up liking the video and the rookie.
As fun as that was, I was more interested to see what the handsome hunk could do in a ring or on the mats. After watching this, I can say he does very well. This is a great ring debut for one of BGEast's hottest rookies of 2016. Hopefully BGEast has Calvin locked up for long time.
