Review: Vinny vs. Tank (Thunders Arena)

I don't usually spoil endings, but in this case, I don't think it's a problem. See, Vinny vs. Tank from Thunders Arena doesn't have an ending. Or maybe I should say, it doesn't have a conclusion. Vinny gorilla presses Tank. Tank gorilla presses Vinny. They face off and bang bodies. To be continued ...

The biggest surprise of this match? The end card.

Yep.

Question is, does it matter? Anyone who bought this likely expected a back-and-forth battle between two big musclemen. You'd expect pumped muscle and power moves. You get that. So does it matter that no one wins? There's no right or wrong answer, obviously. For some the journey is more the point and for others, it's more about the destination.

There's no catalogue description, so it was a complete surprise. For me, it's irritating, but not a deal-breaker. It's more a "principle of the thing" than an actual problem. By the time "to be continued" appeared, the video had done its job. Still, I would've liked to see one of these monsters flat on his back, out cold with the winner posing over him. That would've been awesome and so we're left without that kind of moment.

Two big beasts battle to a stalemate.

Tank is well-named. The musclebeast is short and ridiculously thick. I love his trunks with a pattern that lines up just right in front. He's quite red, but his whole body turns purple as he strains and the lingering white wherever any pressure is applied. It's fascinating. Interestingly, this is the second Tank match I've bought and the second one with no ending. Weird. The first time, he was getting dominated by Steel, but they got interrupted. It makes me wonder his deal.

It's not easy, but Tank gorilla presses Vinny.

Tank is a tank in nice trunks.

Vinny looks less defined than usual, but he's still a huge sexy meathead. He looks even bigger against a shorter guy like Tank. Vinny looks good in oddly cut white trunks that don't look like they're meant for a guy with Vinny's proportions.

It's really not easy, but Vinny gets him up.

Big bad Vinny feels Tank's power.

The action is you'd expect, with big bearhugs, camels and crabs, but I was pleased to see suspended chokes and gorilla presses. I think this might be the first time I've seen Vinny go up and Steel didn't even try to press Tank in their match. It's good to see powerhouse muscledudes showing off all their hard work.

A guy like Tank should use the Steiner Recliner.

Tank's not exactly flexible

Vinny goes up. His ass goes out. Beautiful.

How many guys can do this to Tank? Vinny is one.

In the end, the journey is a good one, even though you never reach your destination. I did like this match. The guys and action should deliver on expectations. There's a little too much back-and-forth, but I can solve that with iMovie for when I want to revisit this.

So that's my take. What's yours? Does the ending matter to you or are you all about the journey?

Alex
