The Cast: Who's Who (February 2020)

Guys,

FeBEAUrary is over. I had a third Beau story planned but decided against making a three-story month. That can be posted some future month. Only one new guy who I love but didn't quite pop. Just an example of how I am often surprised by the response different stories and characters get.

Five Years

I acknowledge my blogging anniversary every year because I think every year is an accomplishment and has something worth celebrating. However, five years feels like a big deal. For me, at least. Barbaric Brawn is over eight years old. Beefcakes of Wrestling just celebrated ten years. Ringside is over eleven. And Wrestling Arsenal is even older. So, five years is no world's record but it’s still a longish time.

Five years already? Let me celebrate myself!

A lot happens over five years. Like what? Let me recap five things for five years.

Five years of ...

Review: Brad Honeycutt vs. Taylor Reign (Muscleboy Wrestling)

I was excited to buy Brad Honeycutt vs. Taylor Reign from Muscleboy Wrestling's latest catalogue for a couple of reasons. First, it has one of MBW's original bad boys, Taylor Reign, who I think is great. And second, it has Brad Honeycutt who I hope will be great. He had a great debut against Alex Costa but would there be a sophomore slump? Spoiler: there isn't.

Two studs I definitely wanted to see again!

Review: Ash DeLeon vs. Buck "Wildcard" Carter (BGEast)

This is a "Heel Bash" video. This is the second one in five catalogues and I hope they've filmed a lot more. I don't know who at BGEast thought of it but I love how they're pitting "heels" against one another and letting them run loose. In the "old days", I feel like it was a big deal for two bad boys to face off and both maintain their aggressive nasty side. I like when both guys come out looking good, like they do here.

Badass beauty meets brutal beast.

Review #691 Gabe Steel vs. Zack Reno (UCW)

UCW has been adding a bit of established talent to its roster lately. Maybe they're "mainstream" now. Maybe they're paying better. Maybe Axel is hustling hard on the recruiting side. After all, UCW's Golden Boy wrestles everywhere so he knows everyone. No matter the reason, the big thing for me when guys jump around is do they adapt to the new place or does the place have to adapt to them?

That's one way to tenderize the big slab of beef.

Mangler is Back!

So, in my Firsts! post, I talked about how Mangler's “A Family Affair” was the first wrestling story I read and that I still remember it today. Even though it has ballbusting action that is harder than my more cartoony approach, the characters, the plot and the writing burned into my head and they're still there 20 years later.

Well, Mangler himself reached out to me to tell me he's just finished a sequel to one of his other stories. I asked where it would live. And lo-and-behold, he's created a place to house his hot-off-the-presses sequel, his old stories, and hopefully many more new ones to come. So far, he’s posted one classic and its brand new sequel.

Am I 100% responsible for the return? Obviously yes but I'm far too modest to take all the credit. Let's just call it a rather happy coincidence.

The Cave Unleashed 12: Beau vs. Ricky

Cody’s Gym.

“All right, before we go for the day, I just have to say it again, Beau. You’re a beast. Saved us an hour today. We could’ve scheduled the inspection for tomorrow afternoon at this pace.”

Beau. A beast.

Review: Scrappy vs. Jaxx Thanatos (Muscleboy Wrestling)

Full disclosure: This video was sent to me by Muscleboy Wrestling.

Sean Pford often comments after one of my stories that some element in it is his "one weakness." I always smile when I read it. He's got to be up to 30 or 40 "one weaknesses" by now. I do the same thing when I describe wrestlers as perfect. I must have about 30 or 40 different definitions of perfection by now. And I stand by all of them. Including both guys in Scrappy vs. Jaxx Thanatos. Literally two PERFECT studs.

Game recognizes game.
Perfect recognizes perfect.

Review: Young Ady vs. Rob Palomino (Spotland Scrappers)

Recently on Twitter, W4H commented on one of my tweets, "Awesome duplex!" Of course, he meant suplex but autocorrect struck a vicious blow. It happens to me all the time. My reply was that I need a wrestling dictionary for my computer. Imagine a world where bodyslam stays one word, along with headlock, etc. Armbar won't become armor. And suplex won't become duplex. Grrr.

A new one I need is Spotland Scrappers, which likes to change to Scotland Scrappers. Now, I'm sure that videos featuring feisty Glaswegians could be fun, too, but it's not right. This annoyance aside, it's not enough to keep me from posting about Young Ady vs. Rob Palomino.

The belt is on the line and these boys want it!

Review: Guido Genatto vs. Elite Eliot (Wrestler4Hire)

Guido: Get the fuckin' tiara out. Get it out! The fuckin' queen is here. The fuckin' diva of all divas is here to fuckin' put you through the fuckin' wringer.

Yes, Guido Genatto calls himself the queen and diva, not his opponent. Being sexual and provocative is his brand and what makes him such a "sex god", so it's good to see him doing it in the right direction. He plays into his character a lot in this match from Wrestler4Hire, owning Elite Eliot from beginning to end. These two studs are hot and talented but this is entirely Guido's match. The young rising star is more a hot body than a wrestler against the hairy hunk.

Guido: "Just fuckin' destroyin' lives all fuckin' day."

How I Edit Images ...

There's a new "page" on the blog. You can find it on the upper nav bar along with index pages for stories and characters or just click HERE.

I've been asked how I edit models into wrestlers a few times so I figured I'd try to show how easy it is to do it once you know how. I recorded my screen to make sure I had a record of every step. I use screen grabs and GIFs to run through it in excruciating detail.

This is the example I chose ... @TraceTrainer on Twitter.

I know this is a specialty interest but it seemed like a way to maybe encourage more guys to make more content. I thought about uploading the video to YouTube but it's 19GB and 35 mins. Plus, I'd have to record narration and as a rambling type, I'd need to work out a script ... anyway, it just seemed like a lot of work.

I hope to be back with a review tomorrow.

Firsts!

There is a first time for everything. Some firsts are memorable. Some are not. On my Justin Pierce vs. Kid Vicious review, Phil commented that Justin Pierce was his first obsession when it came to the homoerotic world. That got me thinking, who or what are my firsts? Here are a few that I can remember ...

1. First gay wrestling video obsession: Brad Rochelle

To use Phil's term, I do remember my first wrestling obsession in the homoerotic world. Yes, all wrestling can be pretty darn homoerotic, but you know what it means. I do not remember my first obsession in pro. That would be between a few guys and I mostly remember "moments" that I'd recorded and replayed until the tape wore out but not the order in which they happened.

How my obsession started is pretty simple. I searched "gay wrestling" (probably on Excite or some other defunct search engine) and BGEast came up. I clicked on the result and there was Brad Rochelle. I don't remember exactly which catalogue and BGEast's previous catalogues seem to only go back to catalogue 30. However, it was one of his early ones. Anyway, I checked out those tiny little pictures and wonderful match descriptions. My first wrestling obsession was born.

Brad's famous yellow speedo and
sultry stare burned into my mind.

The Cave Unleashed 11: Beau vs. Buck

Cody’s Place. 6:30am.

“Sorry for doing this so early, Buck. Jae and I both have 7:00 clients at the gym.”

“It’s okay, Cody. I’m a farmer. I’m always up at the crack of dawn and I’m still not really on LA time. Why did you - oh.”
