Review: Ty Alexander vs. Kenny Star (BGEast)

In the past, I've done special posts on or around July 4th, including red-white-and-blue trunks, Wade Cutler and "fireworks". Last year, I was on vacation in the two weeks prior so I missed it, but I did share vacation pics from Alaska. This year, I wasn't sure what to do, so I chose a regular review. There is a little bit of fortuitous wardrobing as Ty Alexander comes to the mats wearing appropriately themed trunks and shoes.

Review: Scrappy vs. Kenny Star (Muscleboy Wrestling)

Is there anything in this world as reliable AND exciting as Scrappy? Sure, there are reliable cars, appliances and people, but reliable usually means boring. And there are obviously a ton of exciting things. But nothing I can think of is BOTH the way young Scrappy is. The guy just keeps on delivering hit after hit. He's like the Beatles of the gay wrestling scene.

Review: Kenny Starr vs. Luke Reel (BGEast)

TRIGGER WARNING: LANGUAGE

So, right off the bat, let me explain the trigger warning. Luke uses 'gay' as a pejorative to describe meditation multiple times. Now, you may subscribe to the whole 'we can use it' theory, but I do not. It surprises me when I hear 'gay' used in a negative context in 2019 and who says it doesn't change my reaction. Anyway, that's what the trigger warning is all about.

Kenny Starr vs. Luke Reel features two very different BGEast rookies going at it during some down time at the famous northeast headquarters. It's actually pretty cute and fun, with Luke Reel playing an annoying and persistent guy who really wants attention from Kenny Starr and will do anything to get it.

It's awards season at BGEast. I'm sure that many of you vote for the Besties, the annual recognition of fan favorites at BGEast. Last year, I shared my Besties nominations (not votes) with you in a very popular post. I couldn't do that this year, as I wasn't invited to participate. It's just as well. I haven't seen a ton of these nominees.

Review: Ash DeLeon vs. Kenny Starr (BGEast)

There are a lot of wrestlers who go from place to place nowadays. It shouldn't be a surprise to see any wrestler in any promotion, but I admit that I actually was surprised to see Kenny Starr's smiling face on BGEast's catalogue 131 home page. Even with an extra 'r' on his last name, Ash DeLeon vs. Kenny Starr was immediately interesting to me.

Review: #505 Kenny Star vs. Billy Gunn (UCW)

Timing can be weird. I decided to give UCW the Gold Cavey, but since then, we haven't clicked. The matchups have certainly enticed (Cole/Black, Nero/Diesel), but the scenarios haven't (kiddie pool title match, 'no homo' focus). This one also has a specific scenario, but it's a "Lost Match", so I was intrigued enough by the sight of Kenny Star getting torn apart to spend the low price of $9.99 on it.

I enjoyed Kenny Star vs. Billy Gunn, but I think it's a speciality taste. It's not a match. It's all one-sided punishment. Basically, Billy Gunn crushes Kenny in a brutal 100% squash with Kenny having literally no offense at all. There's a lot of abuse, a little bondage and a lot of trash talk. So if you're in the mood to watch this kind of rough beatdown, I think you'll enjoy this.

Billy: "Who's this?"
Kenny: "That's my man. He brings me luck."

Billy: "That's not your man. He's mine!"

Review: #473 Max Ryder vs. Kenny Star (UCW)

I've been catching up on my UCW viewing and they continue to keep me engaged with different tones, gimmicks and relationships between the wrestlers. For me, the main appeal of Max Ryder vs. Kenny Star is the guys. I just like them both and have since they started.

My enjoyment of the match presents an interesting dilemma as a reviewer. While I liked Max Ryder vs. Kenny Star, I would've probably enjoyed them under any circumstances. In this case, though, they're coated in oil. So? Why is that important? Well, it kind of isn't, which is the dilemma.

Review: Kenny Star vs. Nero Angelo (UCW)

This is the perfect match to review after the last few superhero porn reviews. It's a great example of how freaking sexy wrestling can be and why I don't need standard porn as long as I've got wrestling to watch.

Kenny Star vs. Nero Angelo is sexy, fun and action-packed. Both guys look great. They sound great. And they embrace the whole private match ideal wholeheartedly. The wrestling is solid. The story is engaging and clear. There's not much more you can ask from a match. UCW has been on fire lately with both hot new talent and top notch action. This keeps their streak going.

Review: #468 LS Powerhouse vs. Kenny Star (UCW)

As promised, I'm back with another review of a LS Powerhouse UCW match. Everything I said on Thursday holds true. Powerhouse is back with his big personality and bulging muscles, all wrapped in stunning purple pro trunks.

In this match, Powerhouse faces off against Kenny Star, perhaps the hottest of the new pool of guys, which includes studs like Max Ryder, Nero Angelo and Derrick Cole. Star is tall, trim and scruffy with hair on his chest and a killer smile. He reminds me of someone famous, but I just can't pinpoint who it is.
