Review: Cason vs. Joey King (Thunders Arena)

Full disclosure: This video was provided to me by Thunders Arena.

The "tension" of this match is really relatable to me. When I'm writing stories, most of my characters are a lot younger than me. And the gap only gets wider as I age and they don't. Cody, for example, was 28 when he debuted in 2012 (80's baby) but now he won't turn 30 until 2020 at the earliest (90's baby). Someone who's first waking memory happened in the mid-1990's definitely won't use the same cultural references as I would.

In Cason vs. Joey King, things start out in the same way as Joey King is hit by the reality that his favorite Christmas movie came out 10 years before his opponent was even born.

It's Gen-X vs. Gen-Z at Thunders.

Reviews: Chase Squashed! (Underground Wrestler)

As I've been exploring Underground Wrestler, I've noticed a trend when it comes to uber-sexy stud Chase. Someone likes seeing him get knocked out. A lot. I don't know if it's multiple custom video commissioners with the same idea or one passionate guy, but Marco's making serious bank off the bearded blond hunk's narcolepsy.

I obviously get the appeal. Chase reminds me of a hockey player or college quarterback with his scruffy look over a tall-ish and chiseled body. I decided to summarize the three videos I've seen with Chase getting squashed and knocked out, to share the differences and maybe help you decide which one you'd like most.

Somebody really likes Chase getting knocked out.

Review: Aspen vs. Joey King/Brute (Thunders Arena)

Aspen won my 2018 Cavey Award for Favorite Porn Crossover in a surprisingly competitive category. There are a lot and that's not even including guys who dabble in nudity and such. No, amongst studs (that I know) were established porn actors who then discovered wrestling, there were several strong contenders.

One of the reasons he rose to the top was that he also did wrestling-only videos, both in Muscleboy Wrestling and in Thunders Arena. It's a big step, jumping from the mats to the ring. Then, on top of that shift, starting against working pro wrestling heels? Wow. So, how did Aspen's Thunders adventure go?

Pro wrestler Joey King welcomes Aspen to the
Thunders ring with some classic action.

Big Brute teaches Aspen how the men of
Thunders are different from the boys of MBW.

Review: Rhino x 2 (Thunders Arena)

I think it's fair to say that Thunders Arena entire brand is built on high quality musclemen. Still, I continue to be impressed by their ability to keep finding the hottest muscle studs. It's nothing short of remarkable. I'm already excited to see what they do with "Loki", a very familiar and very handsome model-bodybuilder.

Anyway, Rhino was the hot new guy a couple of months ago, but I can't always keep up. However, the chance to check him out finally arose, so I took the leap. While Thunders always finds the best beefcakes, that doesn't always result in the best matches.

Okay, Rhino, let's see what you've got ...
(beyond your cute face and perfect body)

Review: Cason vs. Joey King/Brute (Thunders Arena)

I expected to review Cason vs. Joey King and Cason vs. Brute separately, but after watching the videos, I found that I had to do them together. Why? Because they're basically the same video. Beat for beat, they have extremely similar pacing, action and storylines.

I enjoyed Cason's first ring matches and have a preference? Will you enjoy them or have a preference? I'll try to help you figure that out with a couple of simple questions. Which pro do you like more. Who do you want to see suffer more - Cason or the pro?

I'm going to go out on a limb here ...
Cason has one of Thunders best bodies EVER.

2017 Cavey Awards: Wrestlers

Welcome to the third annual Cavey Awards.

I really appreciate every single man who puts himself out there and wrestles for us. And that includes the guys I rave about, the ones I don't and the ones I've never even watched. And I really appreciate every company that releases gay-oriented wrestling videos. All of the wrestlers and producers are amazing and I know that all have fans who would give them an award.

The Caveys are simply my way to recognize a few of MY personal favorite wrestlers, matches and promotions for the year. I use the word ‘favorite’ deliberately. I don't claim these are the ‘best’. That suggests some kind of objective standard and ranking. These are 100% subjective and 100% mine. And I doubt anyone will agree with me on all of these. And that's cool. These are simply my favorites based on my feelings about what I watch this year.

Review: Joey King vs. Vinny (Thunders Arena)

Joey King: "I ain't gettin' beat by no dude in a banana hammock. Clearly, one of us is a pro and one of us is an amateur playing around in his underwear."

Gotta love Thunders Arena for videos like Joey King vs. Vinny. It's just the kind of thing only they can do. Of course, I knew I'd buy this one as soon as I saw it. Both these guys have had a good year with some real winning videos. Of course, there's never a guarantee the video will live up to the talent. So how did it go?

Joey and Vinny take a spin in the ring.

Review: Joey King vs. Ludwig (Thunders Arena)

Full disclosure: This match was provided to me by Thunders Arena.

I'm pretty much at the end of the Thunders matches that were sent to me. For now, at least. There are a few more I haven't watched, so maybe one day. There were a few that were neither good enough nor bad enough to inspire a review. Joey King v Ludwig was in the former category, but a commenter asked about it, so I decided to take a look.

Joey and Ludwig go for a spin.

Review: Beast vs. Joey King (Thunders Arena)

Once again, Thunders Arena launched a must-buy combination in conjunction with an awesome sale. Beast vs. Joey King was simply too much for me to resist, especially with the St. Patrick's Day deals. And so I bought it along with the Valentine's Day match featuring Blayne vs. Tristan Baldwin and an older Dozer vs. Eagle Custom Series video. It is the rope and tickling-centric clash, which looked fun, but I wasn't willing to pay full price for it. It shouldn't be confused with the wonderful Dozer vs. Eagle mat match, which I also own.

Simply irresistible.

Review: Joey King vs. Kelly King (BGEast)

Heel Bash 2 is the video that caught my attention from BGEast catalog 117.2 when I saw it on the Arena. Admittedly, so did Custom Combat 2, as it sounds fun to program your own match with Jonny Firestorm and young Lane Hartley before he bulked up and went caveman. However, that match is DVD only, so we all know that's out for me, due to my lack of a DVD player. So this is the only compilation I'm getting.

Luckily, it's pretty darn good. I already liked Kid Karisma vs. Ethan Andrews (reviewed here). Let's look at Joey King vs. Kelly King.

Big bad boys bring it

Review: Joey King vs. Scrappy (Thunders)

Joey King vs. Scrappy is sequel of sorts. Thunders Arena could've called it Scrappy vs. the Pros 2: King of Pain. Why? Well, the guys openly discuss how Scrappy has just been manhandled by Billy the Kid and now it's "Joey the King" taking a turn.

I actually think this was released first, but based on the dialogue, I did watch them in the correct order. Not that either way is 'wrong', because both videos are great, albeit similar in theme.

Aw, Scrappy is resting on Joey's lap ... so sweet.

Review: King/Travis vs. Marco/Bolt (Thunders Arena)

February was going to be a Thunders Arena-free month. I've covered a lot of their stuff and I wanted to give some love elsewhere. However, a commenter mentioned this tag team ring match - Marco/Bolt vs. Travis/Joey King. They've sent me three matches recently, so I figured I'd take a risk and try it out. Don't worry, though. I'm doing this as a bonus post, so you'll still get the five reviews and wrestling move post I've already uploaded for the month.

Now, I might have bought this without prodding, but I definitely would've thought twice before buying it. I've enjoyed all four of the Thunders ring matches I've watch so far, so that makes me interested, but none of these four wrestlers are must-buys for me.

Three of Thunders bestsellers together should be a winner, right?
