I shrug. “No. Why would I?”

The freshly showered bodybuilder heel goes quiet, but the silence almost echoes in the locker room. His eyes narrow as he tries to figure out my game. Unfortunately for him, he can’t because I'm not playing one. I honestly don't care if he accepts this match or not. I promised that I'd try to set up a match with Miguel for someone and I've done that.

"Ryan, are you serious with this match?"

My best friend and business partner looks at me with his usual amused and patronizing look whenever I question his business decisions. He simply responds, "Yes."

Ryan and I are seated at my kitchen island discussing The Cave. It's our gay-oriented, superhero-themed wrestling video company. We co-own it, but Ryan definitely has more experience on the business side. However, I have more experience on the talent side. After all, I am The Bat, the biggest and best-selling star. So I feel like he should listen to me on this.

My boyfriend Jae looks over from my sofa, curious about what I'm talking about. He's also a popular wrestler, both as the hero SuperStar and the villain DarkStar. I turn, "Get this, Jae. Ryan is pairing Ace against Moneymaker."

As I walk into the locker room, I ask, "Hey Spence, you ready?"

"Almost, Cody. Just gotta tie up my boots!"

I wait as he finishes then admire him as he stands up. One of the perks of co-owning The Cave, a gay-oriented, superhero-themed wrestling video producer, is getting to check out the talent before they hit the ring. I have to admit that Spencer is gorgeous and his choice of hero character and gear make him a very popular stud with fans.

"What? He's not here yet? I better text -"

The 20-year old muscle punk grabs my phone out of my hand, "I told you, Ryan. Cody is running late, but he said don't wait for him. Gimme five minutes to get dressed then we can go."

Xaq locks my phone away in his locker. The naked stud turns to grab his gear as though the discussion is over. He's a powerful 5'11"/205-lbs, but at 6'4"/250-lbs of muscle, I'm bigger, stronger and a better fighter. I could easily handle this, but Cody wouldn't be happy with me if I hurt his sidekick before his big solo debut.

The Cave 17: The Bat vs. Moneymaker

"Finally! I finally get The Bat all to myself in The Cave ring. Yeah, strip off that cape and show me that sweet ass."

I smile, "Be careful what you wish for, man. Singles is different than tag. Maybe you should've aimed a little lower for your first Moneymaker match."

The muscleheel laughs, "Oh yeah, I love how cocky you are, hero. This is why I wanna beat on you so bad. I'm gonna make this a classic. Guaranteed."

I just nod before I drape my cape over the ringpost. I keep a watchful eye on the big muscleman and his 19-year old 'valet'. In his previous identity, my opponent was more of a hero, but as Moneymaker he's adopted a full-on villain persona. Just two weeks ago, Moneymaker viciously devastated and thoroughly humiliated his long-time tag partner before successfully banishing him from The Cave forever.

"It's tough to see you guys end things like this. Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Fuck yeah. It's been a long time comin', Cody. The kid deserves everything he's gonna get."

I pout, "I hate this."

"Liar. You love drama."

I put up my hands in a 'hold on' motion and shake my head, "Not for real, man. These days I only love fake drama. I mean, it's the end of an era. You're Night, he's Day. Night and Day. Watching you guys wrestle together is like poetry."

"NO! Fuck no! What the fuck is that?"

The hairy muscleman rolls into the ring and roughly pushes the smooth, younger musclestud off me. He grabs my arm and locks on a stiff armbar. He says, "THIS is how you do it!"

I feel the pressure rise on my shoulder and elbow. I warn, "Okay, Night. I'm sure Day gets it. Let up now." The hairy muscleman eases up on the armbar, but keeps hold of my arm.

Night says, "See the difference?"
