Mindsweeper Monday: TCCW 41

TCCW are wrestling stories from two different Yahoo! groups from the early 2000's. These entries were part of a much larger universe led by other writers. There are references to characters, events and matches that will not be posted here. Titles change hands, friendships and alliances form and dissolve, all without you ever seeing it. Imagine you are watching an Indy fed sporadically.

Note: You can find ALL (?) the stories by all authors in order in their original versions HERE - thanks for the link, Mangler!

Martin/Elton versus Corwin/Drew

Kevin turned to his wrestlers and said, "Martin is heading out. Everyone get ready. You know what we need to do."

The Posse members rose and moved to the door. All but Taylor, that is. Rusty noticed him hanging back. Rusty walked back to him and sat beside him.

Taylor looked at Rusty with hard eyes. Taylor neither had nor wanted any friends in the Posse. Rusty said, "You not coming?"

Taylor said, "No. I want the Heavyweight Heels to interfere. I want them to mess Martin up. I don't give a crap what Kevin wants. You can kiss that 24-year old ass, but not me, I'm done with this shit."

Rusty smiled, "Is that what you think I do? Kiss ass?"

Taylor said, "Isn't it? Look, I want Martin's belt. As long as I'm Kevin's 'boy', I'll never get it, no matter what Kevin promises. I'm telling Kevin, either Martin goes from the Posse or I do."

Rusty shook his head. "Let me tell you something, you need to wake up. I know you want Martin's belt. But if you give Kevin an ultimatum, you will lose. Kevin never wants to look weak. Even if he wants rid of Martin, he'll keep him just to spite you. You will be out of the Posse for good."

Taylor shrugged as though he didn't care.

Rusty said, "Let me tell you a few things. Ever heard of a tag team named Alan and Greg?" Taylor shook his head. "They were Posse members. Tough guys, strong and good wrestlers. Left the Posse. Have only wrestled twice since and lost twice."

Taylor said, "They were obviously losers. I'm not."

Rusty said, "You think talent will get you somewhere? Ask Daryl, probably the best middleweight, how many shots he has had at the title. He's had none. Closest he came was a match for the number one contender spot. He might leave TCCW in a couple of years without ever getting a shot except for that pity shot Roby gave him at the heavyweight belt."

All of sudden, Taylor was interested in what Rusty was saying.

Rusty noticed Taylor's interest and continued, "Let me tell you why I hang around Kevin. I know that as long as I hang with the Posse, I can wrestle whenever I want. If I want a match, it happens. I've fought for the title. I can take a break and know that when I want to wrestle again, I'll be on the next card. That's why Kevin has us all here. Sure, we have to get it done in the ring, but a lot of guys never even get a shot."

"Look at Vinny. Guy has lost five times and won once. But he can get a match tomorrow. Because of Kevin." Taylor was now staring intently at Rusty.

Rusty said, "Look at the lightweight group. Kevin loses the belt to Samuel. Who gets the next shot? Wesley? Willy? Jacoby? Nope. Those guys are good, with great records, but it goes to Phillip. You think that happens if he isn't Posse? No way. Phillip is just another wrestler waiting for his shot."

Rusty knew he had Taylor back in line. He concluded, "Taylor, look, Martin and Kevin are heading for a crash. Martin is independent, strong-willed. When he and Kevin explode, you'll get your shot. But if you try to boss Kevin around, that will NEVER happen. I can guarantee it. Just hang tight. Give it a couple more weeks and you might just be Middleweight Champion of TCCW."

Taylor nodded. Rusty made a convincing argument. With reluctance, Taylor followed him outside. He would follow orders for now.

THIS MATCH IS A SPECIAL TAG TEAM MATCH. ONE FALL, THIRTY MINUTE TIME LIMIT.

INTRODUCING FIRST, THE CHALLENGERS! WEIGHING IN AT 187-POUNDS, WEARING THE BLACK SINGLET, HERE ... IS ... ELTON!

The crowd cheered loudly as Elton emerged. Daryl, Joey and Patrick had made the rounds of the crowd, letting it be known that Corwin and Drew had interfered in his last match. Everyone was impressed that Elton would still wrestle and not use it as an excuse.

Elton sauntered to the ring, flexing his pecs, bouncing them for the admiring crowd. He flexed his biceps and posed for the audience. Elton had NEVER done this before, always entering quietly and ignoring everyone.

But tonight, he felt excited to be here. After letting the crowd know the background, Daryl, Joey and Patrick had moved to the back of the arena. They were ready for action, too.

AND HIS PARTNER, THE MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION, WEIGHING IN AT 170-POUNDS, WEARING THE BLACK TRUNKS, HERE IS MARTIN!

Martin came running to the ring as he always did. The only difference was that, for the first time, Martin was met with loud cheers! The crowd leapt to their feet as Martin slid into the ring and hugged Elton.

Martin leapt onto the second rope in the corner and pumped his fist, inciting the crowd even more. He repeated this in the other three corners until every person watching was on their feet!

AND THEIR OPPONENTS, WEIGHING IN AT A COMBINED WEIGHT OF 335-POUNDS, WEARING THE BLACK TRUNKS AND MASKS, HERE ARE CORWIN AND DREW!

Everyone knew that Corwin and Drew wanted to be referred to as The Outlaws, but TCCW did not allow for such showiness. The former tag champs walked out slowly and confidently. They arrogantly approached the ring and walked up the steps, ignoring the boos.

Corwin and Drew could not wait to dismantle Martin and Elton. They had agreed to do it slowly and methodically. They had taught Elton everything he knew about tag wrestling and Martin had never wrestled tag. This gave them tremendous confidence.

Corwin pointed at Elton and said, "We taught you everything you know, El-ton. It's time for another lesson! We're gonna ..."

Martin smiled. He walked to the center of the ring and spread his arms, interrupting the Outlaws. Corwin and Drew were a little taken aback. Martin unbuckled his title belt, making a big production out of it. The crowd responded and Martin revealed his rock-hard lean muscles.

He moved to his corner and hung the belt over the ringpost. Martin then signaled the ref and said, "Ring the bell."

The ref did and the Outlaws were left standing there, mouths gaping. Martin smirked. He had already thrown them off and demonstrated to everyone who was in control. The match had just started, but the gamesmanship was in full-swing!

Drew started off against Elton. The crowd was buzzing as the men circled. The studs were focused entirely on the match. For Drew, a lot of pent up anger was inside him. He and Corwin blamed Elton and his friends for their loss of the title. Things were going great until Elton had wormed his way into their world. Now he would pay.

Elton's dislike of Drew came from their sudden change in attitude. From being training partners to this. Elton remembered how Corwin and Drew had come to him before his match with Martin for the title. They had acted as friends before jumping him and costing him any shot at beating Martin.

Elton would not be fooled again. Corwin and Drew, the studly Tarzan wannabes in their loincloths, were done. Now they were The Outlaws. And Elton was ready.

Drew and Elton locked up in a traditional collar-and-elbow tie up. Drew maneuvered Elton into a headlock. Drew cranked hard on Elton's head. Elton, in response, pounded four hard forearms into Drew's back, lifting Drew off his feet.

Elton forced Drew into the ropes, then hurled him off the ropes. Drew was sent running across the ring. As he came off, he leapt off, planning to surprise Elton with a cross body block!

Elton was ready. He and Martin had been training all week, learning from Dean, Corwin's brother. As Dean had taught Elton, Drew telegraphed his moves. Elton had seen the footwork that he knew meant cross body. Elton braced himself and caught Drew in mid-air!

With Drew helpless in his arms, Elton used their momentum to carry them over. Elton planted Drew onto the canvas hard! The powerslam shook the ring. Elton grabbed a handful of Drew's long brown hair and pulled him to his feet. Drew followed and was dropped by a mighty clothesline!

Drew moaned, back on the mat. Elton forced him to his feet again and hurled him hard into the corner. Drew slammed back hard, his back aching! Elton tagged Martin in. The two studs kicked Drew's midsection until the ref reached five. Elton slid out of the ring and watched Martin take over.

Martin grabbed Drew around the head and pulled him forward, leaping up and bulldogging Drew's head into the canvas! Martin rolled Drew over and pounded on his abs. Martin landed hard several hard fists, softening Drew's already weakened abs.

Martin pulled Drew up again. He hurled Drew into the ropes. As Martin moved to release Drew, Drew reversed the move, throwing Martin into the ropes. Corwin was ready! As Martin hit the ropes, Corwin kicked out, planting his boot right into the small of Martin's back!

Martin yelped and fell forward onto his knees. Drew moved in and hammered two forearms into Martin's head, sending him sprawling to the mat. Drew wasted no time. He tagged Corwin and moved back to Martin.

Martin crawled to his hands and knees. He felt stupid, knowing that he should have anticipated a double team. He heard Drew's footsteps beside him. Martin turned quickly, launching forward with his trademark snake strike, plunging his fist deep into Drew's midsection.

Drew stumbled back and Martin pressed his advantage. Martin marched forward. Corwin, the legal man, climbed to the top rope. When Martin was standing, he leapt forward, clotheslining the side of Martin's head, sending him flying down, dazed!

Corwin moved in, ready to show Martin why he and Corwin had been the tag champs for so long ...

In the back, many wrestlers were watching as the tide turned. From various vantage points, most could see the action clearly.

Corwin marched up to Martin and laid the boots to the dazed middleweight champion. Corwin stomped hard, driving his foot into Martin's rippling back.

Corwin pulled Martin to his feet and hurled him into the corner. Martin hit hard, his back smashing into the turnbuckles. Corwin charged forward, leaping into the air to splash Martin.

Martin dropped down, rolling out of the way as Corwin connected with nothing but turnbuckle! Martin crawled to the corner and tagged Elton. Elton entered and raced to the corner. Corwin was still hanging on the top turnbuckle, moaning from the miss.

As Elton came forward, Corwin saw him out of the corner of his eye. He launched his leg back, aiming for Elton's thick pecs with a mule kick. Elton was ready. He grabbed Corwin's foot and dragged him off the top rope. Corwin fell four and a half feet to slam into the mat.

Elton jumped over Corwin, landed on the second rope and launched himself back. Elton splashed his weight on top of Corwin's back! Corwin let out a huge grunt as Elton smashed into him.

Elton rolled off Corwin and pulled him to the middle of the ring by his ankle. The blond Outlaw slid without resistance as Elton pulled him across the canvas. Elton rolled Corwin over with his foot and measured him for an elbow drop. Elton dropped and planted a hard elbow to Corwin's abs.

Corwin moaned as Elton went for the cover. Drew slipped in and pulled Elton off his partner. As the ref went to push Drew from the ring, Drew planted a hard boot into Elton's back. Elton sprawled forward. Corwin gained enough of his senses to roll to his knees.

As Elton stumbled forward from Drew's kick, Corwin seized advantage. He raked Elton's eyes, sending Elton rolling across the ring clutching his face. Elton kicked the mat in frustration as Corwin tagged Drew in legally.

The Outlaws pulled Elton up and locked him up for a double suplex! Elton flew over top and was planted hard into the mat. Elton sprang up, his vision clearing. Drew moved behind him and stomped hard onto his back. Elton grimaced in pain.

Drew pulled Elton up and pushed him into the corner in front of Corwin. Drew lifted his knee into Elton's midsection, winding him. The ref counted to five and Drew backed off. Drew charged across the ring at Martin. As he did, the ref followed and Corwin set to work.

Corwin used the tag rope to wrap up Elton's throat. With Elton held tightly, Corwin drove his knee into Elton's back. Elton started to sag as he was being choked into unconsciousness while being pummeled illegally!

Martin was frustrated that this ref was being lax. But Martin had no qualms about breaking the rules. He pointed at Drew and said, "You want it this way? Fine with me. You're new at this heel thing. I'll show you what a real heel can do!"

Drew flipped Martin off and smirked, "What make you think you're getting back in? Al you can do is save your partner from being pinned. And to be honest, we want you to do that. Elton's the one we want to ruin."

Martin made a move to come into the ring, but the ref stopped him. Drew, naturally turned and saw Elton nearly out. He signalled Corwin. With elton unable to move because of the rope around his neck, Drew took his time to measure him.

Drew charged forward and leapt into the air. He splashed hard on top of Elton! The ref was back over. Corwin let the tag rope slide from Elton's throat and Drew moved off. Drew spread his arms wide, arrogantly posing while Elton fell forward, landing face first into the mat.

Drew smirked at his partner. The Outlaws were back!

Drew immediately tagged Corwin back in. The two masked men stood on either side of Elton's prone body and dropped elbows into his back. They sprang up and dropped two more elbows each before the ref forced Drew out of the ring.

Corwin walked around Elton. He adjusted his black trunks, pulling them out of his ass crack where they had ridden up to. While he considered what move to use next, Corwin flexed for the crowd, showing off his lean biceps.

Corwin dragged Elton up, but he couldn't raise the 187-pounds of dead weight. Elton came up to his knees. Corwin slapped him hard, waking Elton up. Corwin placed Elton's head between his legs and wrapped his arms around Elton's waist.

Corwin hoisted, getting ready to deliver a powerbomb. Elton felt his feet leaving the mat and started kicking. He landed back on the mat, as Corwin lost control. Elton stood and Corwin went over, landing hard on his back.

Elton fell back to his knees. He started crawling to Martin. Corwin was up in an instant. He grabbed two handfuls of Elton's singlet and pulled him back. Elton was pulled away from Martin and the tag.

Corwin stomped Elton hard. He punished the big middleweight's body. Corwin knew that Elton had a propensity for taking punishment and coming back. Well, not this time. Corwin forced Elton to his feet.

Corwin pushed Elton into a neutral corner. He pounded hard on his torso. The ref pushed him off at five. Corwin argued with the ref, but he would not be turned. Drew wanted to attack Elton but the ref was looking right at Elton the entire time.

It was then that Drew got an idea. He started screaming at the ref, giving Corwin the opportunity to move in. The ref had to turn to address Drew. Corwin moved in. He kicked Elton twice in the stomach.

Corwin felt a tap on his shoulder. Assuming it was the ref, he turned. It was Martin, who had slipped in while Drew was talking to the ref. Martin moved faster than any other wrestler in TCCW. He launched his famous snake strike, tearing into Corwin's muscles.

Martin pulled Elton to their corner, letting him crawl there. Drew realized is mistake as he saw Corwin on the mat, leveled by the quick blows. Drew stopped arguing, but the ref warned him. In that moment, Martin leapt back, hopped over the ropes and waited. The ref turned just in time to see Martin legally tagging in.

Corwin was back on his feet. Martin charged. Corwin ducked to the right, but Martin guessed correctly and hammered him across the back while driving his knee into Corwin's abs! Corwin was sandwiched in the blow and crushed.

Martin refused to let Corwin fall. Instead, he hurled him back into the corner and pounded Corwin's abs like a jackhammer. By the time the five-count was over, Martin had landed ten hard shots!

Martin moved back. He subtly moved his foot behind Corwin's and tripped Corwin out of the corner. The ref warned him but martin did not care. This ref was a stickler for the rules, but Martin was Martin. Rules were for suckers.

Corwin was put down hard by the trip. Martin pulled him up, only to DDT him back down! With Corwin temporarily stunned, Martin went back to work. He would not rest until Corwin's abs were red and wiggling like cherry jello.

Martin flipped Corwin to his back and repeatedly stomped them, dropped elbows and assaulted them without end. Drew could do nothing but watch. The ref kept a constant eye on him. Corwin was moaning on the mat. Every counter he tried was countered. It was like Martin knew his game plan.

Which, of course, he did. He and Elton knew what Drew and Corwin would do from the start. Only the fact that Corwin and Drew were exceptionally skilled kept this from being a squash.

Martin was finally satisfied with his demolition of Corwin's abs. He knew that he could get the submission, but that was not good enough. He got ready to tag in Elton

In the back, things were heating up. The outcome of the match was becoming apparent, as Martin and Elton had control over Corwin and the referee was effectively keeping Drew out of it.

Drew was thinking, "Just our luck. We get a ref who wants to do his job."

Martin tagged Elton back in. Martin had softened up Corwin's abs. The six-pack muscles were red from the continuous abuse. Now Elton slid into the ring, ready to go to work on his shoulders.

Martin and Elton each grabbed a wrist, cinched in a hammerlock and hoisted the blond Outlaw into the air. The two middleweight studs slammed Corwin down hard, right on top of his arms and causing him to scream in pain.

Martin slipped out of the ring and caught Drew's eye. He winked at Drew and then gave him the finger. Drew was furious. He stormed in, only to be stopped again by the ref. Elton had Corwin up for a shoulderbreaker.

When the ref turned around, Martin leapt to the top rope and put his hands onto Corwin's feet. He pushed down, making elton's shoulder breaker twice as painful and twice as devastating.

Corwin convulsed on the mat, his shoulder aching. Elton slapped Corwin hard, giving him payback for the earlier slapping Corwin had dished out.

Elton forced Corwin up. He held Corwin in a hammerlock, then threw Corwin into the corner! Corwin's shoulder hit first. Corwin stumbled back, the pain really screaming. Corwin tried to shake out his arm, but elton was relentless.

As Elton approached, Corwin thrust out with a side kick, but Elton was ready. Elton smirked, "Corwin, everyone knows that when you are in trouble, you go for the kick."

Elton twisted hard, wrenching Corwin's knee! Corwin toppled down. Elton stomped his shoulder as he flailed on the mat. Elton was forced off Corwin and he climbed the ropes. He rested for a moment, thankful for the first time that the ref was being conscientious.

Corwin considered his situation. He needed a tag. His abs were red and weak. His right shoulder felt like shit. Elton and Martin seemed to know what he was about to do before he did it. Not good.

Corwin did have hope though, with or without the tag. Trace and Kale were in the back, watching. If the heels could make an unannounced trip to ringside, it would be game over for Martin and Elton.

Elton approached. Corwin dove, evading his grasp. He moved to make the tag. Corwin rolled all the way across the ring and tagged Drew. Drew entered, only to be met by a flying Elton, coming at him hard. Drew went flying back. Elton kicked him under the bottom rope, sending him to the floor below.

Elton grabbed two handfuls of Corwin's hair and dragged him to the middle of the ring. Drew came charging in, only to be met by the ref and forced out. Drew argued that he was, in fact, the legal man! But, the ref had seen nothing. While Drew was tagging in, Martin had been distracting him. The past minute had passed without the ref seeing a thing.

Drew was pushed out of the ring and Corwin was back in Elton and Martin's clutches. Drew swore, but could do nothing else. While he argued, Martin and Elton were double teaming his partner.

Drew swallowed his pride and moved out. He anxiously looked to the back, wondering, where are Trace and Kale?

"Where do you think you are going?"

The four heels stood tall, smirking as Daryl, Patrick and Joey blocked their path. Trace said, "We're going to dish out some punishment. You keep standing there and you can have some, too."

From the left side, a gravelly, deep voice said, "What about us? Can we have some?"

The heels turned and saw the tag champs, Carter and Rick, standing to the side with Jeff and Sean beside them. It was now seven middleweights they were facing, but Trace and company kept a brave face on. Trace said, "Don't get involved in this, little men."

Behind the heels, another rich voice rang out, "I suggest you keep the threats to yourself. The Outlaws deserve anything they get."

The heels turned. Doug, Bastian and Dean were standing there, arms crossed, obviously ready for action. Now things were getting worrisome. Three heavyweights and seven middleweights. A little daunting, even for the biggest, strongest studs in TCCW.

The final nail in Corwin and Drew's coffin came when Kevin stepped out from an area behind Daryl, Patrick and Joey. He had been waiting to make a dramatic entrance, figuring he would save the Daryl, Patrick and Joey. But the other wrestlers had stolen a little of his thunder.

Still, Kevin acted like the big shot he thought he was. "What's going on here?" From behind him emerged Philip, the lightweight champ. Then came the middleweights, Vinny and Taylor. Then the tag teams, Jed, Luke, Tyson and Brett. Finally, with the heels in total shock, Rusty and Lance walked into the mass.

Ryan and Lucien were never really interested in Corwin and Drew anyway, and Trace and Kale realized that this was over. Corwin and Drew were on their own.

Trace could not go without speaking though. He said, "Don't think this is over."

Daryl said confidently, "Your friends have made a lot of enemies. Are you sure they are worth it?"

"No." It was Ryan who spoke. He was unhappy about this situation. He feared no one wrestler, but facing 20 was something else. Corwin and Drew had created so much controversy as to unite every other faction against them. Ryan stormed off followed by Lucien.

Trace and Kale trailed, unhappy to hear Ryan's words. They knew what he was thinking, though and had to agree.

Corwin and Drew might be on their own in a few matches until the bitterness died down.

The match was everything that the crowd and the other wrestlers wanted. The consensus was clearly that Corwin and Drew deserved what they were getting.

In the back, Dean, Carter and Rick were all smiling. They had spent hours working with Martin and Elton all week and it had showed. Dean had taught Corwin many of his moves. It gave him great pleasure to see his brother's holds and moves countered. Elton's months of training with Corwin and Drew had given him great insight into their styles.

On the other hand, Corwin and Drew had expected an easy time with the middleweights and paid the price for their arrogance. They had trained with Elton. They thought they knew his style. They had not planned for him to change things up. And they definitely never thought two wrestlers could form a team in a week and be competitive!

Back in the ring, it was time for the grand finale. Elton waited for the destroyed Corwin to rise. When he did, Elton moved in and locked on his full nelson! Elton quickly moved over to the corner. Martin hopped onto the ropes and tore off Corwin's black mask.

The crowd cheered as Corwin hung limply in the finishing move. Corwin's bright red abs sagged over his tight black trunks and he whimpered. Drew started into the ring, but the ref waved him off. Drew was undeterred and continued in, forcing the ref to stop him.

With the ref turned, Martin entered the ring and literally shoved Corwin's mask into his mouth! Martin then locked on his cruel claw!

Corwin's eyes nearly popped out of his head as the two finishers tore his defenses asunder. He was powerless and screamed his submission again and again, praying for an end to his suffering. Drew was practically climbing over the ref to save his partner.

The ref struggled to hold the masked man back. The ref was a college wrestler and a formidable man, but Drew's adrenaline was rushing as he saw tears streaming down Corwin's face.

Finally, after minutes of struggling, Drew was physically removed from the ring by the ref. Elton had been watching. When Drew had one leg heading out of the ring, he signaled Martin. Martin released the claw and pulled out the soaking wet mask.

The ref turned and saw Elton holding an unconscious Corwin in his full nelson. He checked Corwin for consciousness and signaled for the bell. Elton threw Corwin's limp body to the mat and Martin came in.

They straddled Corwin's carcass as Drew came towards them. Drew said, "Get away from him. You got your win."

Elton said, "Don't you ever tell me what to do. You think you can pull crap without payback? Well, think again. Every wrestler in TCCW hates you. You've united us, Drew. If you do anything to anyone, I'll back them up. I don't give a crap who it is, either."

From the back, Daryl, Patrick, Joey, Carter, Rick, Jeff, Sean, Dean, Doug, Bastian, Kevin, Phillip, Taylor, Vinny, Rusty, Lance, Jed, Luke, Tyson and Brett all emerged. Daryl's friends Stephen and Bryan came out as well, as did Jessie and Jack.

As Drew looked out over the crowd, he knew it was true. He had wondered why Trace and Kale had not helped them. Now he knew. Drew moved back and waited for Martin and Elton to leave. It was only then that he could comfort Corwin.

Drew helped Corwin up and went down the aisle. The crowd had turned and were moving out as the interlude between matches started. None of them even watched Drew and Corwin exit.

THE END
