I’m trying not to look worried, because across the ring are two of our current rivals, Dick von Winkel and Eric Kaine.

"What the --" My head snaps up at the insult, shocked to hear any guy here do anything but hit on us.

My name’s Jake Justice. I’m a pro wrestler for the American Wrestling League, the second largest promotion in the country. Until five seconds ago, I was just relaxing, enjoying a beer with my buddies, Chuck Rollins and Colt Hill, who are also wrestlers in the AWL.

"Hey, Brad, good to meet you."

"Ben! Good to meet you, finally. Get the fuck in here. Brrrr." Brad shivers then slams the door behind me.

I smile as I say, "You're cold? I'm shocked that loincloth doesn't keep you warm. Tarzan obviously never needed to be in Rochester in November."

Brad asks with a smirk, "You complaining? I can put on more clothes."

Review: Jersey vs. Frey (Thunder's Arena)

There's something fun about seeing a new wrestler, a rookie, in action, because you don't really know what to expect. It's a bit of a thrill to be surprised. Of course, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.

I've learned the hard way about buying based on pictures, but I did it anyway. I bet $32 on the latest stud from Thunder's Arena, Jersey. It's a hefty investment on an unknown quantity. One I've refused to make on "sure-thing" Dirty Daddy from the same company. All based on the hope that Jersey would live up to the promise of a few pics on their Tumblr.

I'll spare you the suspense. He does. It turns out that Jersey is a hot, charming stud who knows how to wrestle. Jersey vs. Frey is a winner. It's a back-and-forth match that sold me hard on the rookie and made me hungry for more.

Inspiration: Mike Columbo = Gordon Scott?

Sean at Inner Jobber just posted about Mike Columbo. The post reminded me of a post I did for Bard. It was the second of two posts I did called Lusts of My Life. In the post, I compared two of my favorite guys - Mike Columbo and Gordon Scott, saying how similar I find them. Below is the blog post, obviously continuing my first one.

So I know I wrote that my lusts are usually low profile, but that's not the case for this one. Mike Columbo. I mean, he is one of BGE's big stars and has been in tons of videos. However, the reason I like him may be unique. Tarzan. Yes, Tarzan is why he was one of the first guys I gravitated to.

Now, I admit that if I were casting a Tarzan, Mike Columbo wouldn't be my first choice. So how does my brain relate the two? Here's my explanation:

TAP, TAP. "Ben!" TAP, TAP. "Ben!"

I hear my best friend Jeff at my motel room door. I roll out of bed, trying not to wake my boyfriend Dylan. I pull on a pair of athletic pants and open the door slightly, getting hit by the cool November air.

Jeff asks me, "Ben, can I borrow the car? I got some business to take care of."

I whisper, "Huh? What kind of business could you possibly have at midnight in Quincy Massachusetts?"

Jeff smiles, "Asskicking business."
