Review: Dash Decker vs. Ethan Andrews (88Wrestling)

Rematches are tough to do, especially when they follow a great first match. I used to avoid them, but I have done more than a few now, mostly from Thunders Arena or the same guys facing off at a different promotion. Regardless of my feelings, when 88Wrestling announced Dash Decker vs. Ethan Andrews, it was pretty much a must-buy. How'd it go?

Hm, Dash vs. Ethan? Yes, I'm all in.

Dash Decker looks amazing. It's easily the best he's looked since his RHW run. I feel like he's bulked up and hardened his muscles again. He should always wear briefs. They show off his ass so much better than the usual squarecuts. And he's a great victim. I just love seeing the big alpha male's powerful body getting stretched and bent.

There's not much left to say about Ethan Andrews. I've posted about him 15 times from 7 different promotions. He's lean and tight in khaki green trunks. Interestingly, we get to see his flirty side on display here, which is usually reserved for UCW. I like that even this arrogant heel-type can't resist Dash's obvious physical charms and beauty.

Lean but no longer mean?

Dash looks amazing from any angle.

The last time these two faced off, it was in King of the Ring 3, a top five best match ever from Rock Hard Wrestling. This doesn't live up to that video, but there's still lots to love. And one of the smart choices is that this match feels significantly different. The tone and the stakes change the vibe so it all feels new.

Stakes? Well, they're one-sided stakes. Dash only wants to kick Ethan's ass. But Ethan takes one look at Dash and he wants to go on a date with Dash. Wait, what? Yep, those tight red briefs work their magic and the bad boy is only a man. The big muscleman only laughs, but if Ethan wins, it'll be dinner on Dash followed by who knows what. Much lighter and less menacing than the first time they met.

That's a great way to handle a bigger man.

Action-wise, it's very RHW/88W. Three ten-minute rounds. Back-and-forth. A lot of submission holds and physical punishment. And a lot of sweat. Dash looks even better all wet and shiny. There are no heels at 88W, everyone is pretty much a variation of the cocky jock. And so some rules are broken with low blows (by both guys) that turn the tide, but mostly it's an above the board beatdown.

As you can tell by my image choices, the big draw for me is the positions Ethan gets Dash into. He's beaten down so many big guys by now that it's completely believable to see him not only be competitive but be dominant for long stretches. I knew Dash'd lose at least a fall, but it's not just about a move that gets a submission, it's about every long-held hold that has him weak and whimpering. It all works for me.

In the end, I liked this match. It's back-and-forth, but I really only fixate on the half where Dash is on the receiving end. His alpha male persona is so well-established that seeing him dominated is always a huge turn-on. He looks his best and his pumped, sweaty muscles are simply beautiful in red briefs.
