Review: Ty Alexander vs. Steve Mason (BGEast)

It's been about a year since I've been interested in more than three matches from a new BGEast catalogue, but the new catalogue 123 has four that I'm quite interested in seeing and three more I'm semi-interested in. Naturally, the ones I want most aren't available on VOD, yet. BGEast always seems to know which matches I'm most interested in and puts them up last. Perhaps it's an illusory correlation, but this time it's true.

While I wait, I decided to check out Ty Alexander vs. Steve Mason from catalogue 122. This wasn't on my initial list as it feels like I haven't bought a Wrestleshack match in a decade or more, but I like Ty and Steve seems cute, so I decided to give it a try. So how'd it go?

Steve's a handful for a dominant Ty.

Ty Alexander has been a BGEast staple for quite a while. It's been fun to see him evolve from young jobber to heel-jobber to competitive force. Ty losing is no longer a sure thing as his skills are now allowed to shine as bright as his personality. His confidence and dominant side are on display here as he faces rookie Steve Mason, introducing him to BGEast in a big way.

Cute is the best way I know to describe Steve, but hung probably works, too. It's easy to see why BGEast welcomed him into the fold and why Ty wanted to wrestle him. He's also comfortable on the mats, eagerly facing the cocky veteran. After watching this, Steve seems like a great opponent. He's tough, but playful and I can't imagine anyone being able to resist reaching for that huge pouch.

Steve lets it all hang out in his debut.

Ty heats up the shack in his singlet.

Hey, Steve, how's it hanging?

Right from the start, Ty and Steve have a lot of chemistry. There's some immediate heat as they start off. Ty is supremely confident, while the rookie has a quiet calm that suggests Ty shouldn't take him lightly. That's made apparent early as Steve gets Ty tapping. Steve's legs are a mighty weapon and he uses them well.

Ty knows just where to go.

Steve has some skills.

Two can play at this game.

The guys start in singlets, trunks, socks and shoes, but eventually work the singlets and trunks off for an explosive end. Action-wise, the wrestling is close, tight and sexy. It surpasses my expectations with some intensity beyond the sexual chemistry. The submissions feel real as the guys go back-and-forth, adding in some erotic play without sacrificing the wrestling element.

Of course, this is an erotic match, just one with good wrestling to set up a well-deserved and mutual finish. The erotic stuff is never really my interest, but the guys have fun. Ty enjoys Steve's body. The rookie should vault into the lead for Best Bulge in the BGEast awards. And he certainly enjoys the confident and dominant Ty just as much.

Nice submission move, rook.

A creative and extra-tough single-leg crab.

Steve and Ty connect beautifully.

In the end, this is a fun and sexy match. The guys are really into each other and clearly enjoy the back-and-forth battle. The wrestling is foreplay, but also a solid submission battle with some really nice moves. Steve couldn't ask for a better debut and Ty does a great job in command. I'm looking for to the return of the Trophy Boy into the ring, but this was a nice bridge until that happens.

What are other bloggers saying?

So that's my take. What's yours?

Alex
