Review: Frey vs. Scrappy (Thunders Arena)

I moved this post, because there was some drama at Thunders Arena with Mr. Mike landing in the hospital. They were closed for business and it read like there were some operational challenges. With the site back up, I'm assuming he's on the mend and things are back on track. Phew. I've been traveling, so I only know what I read in this PSA on Ringside, but it sounds like it was scary.

If anyone needs to cheer themselves up, Scrappy vs. Frey might be a good place to start.

Frey and Scrappy get a lot of coverage here. In fact, I've posted about them more than any other wrestlers, 24 and 25 times respectively. Not all of those were reviews, but they've certainly been extremely prolific and impactful during my brief three-and-a-third years of blogging.

It helps, of course, that they're hot and they've got a lot of charisma. Scrappy's lime green hot pants are awesome here as they ride high up his butt. And what a butt. Wow, just look at those globes of smooth muscle. Frey is rocking the pink and black lightning bolt trunks that are a Thunders signature look.

Who wears short shorts?

Superstars in classic form.

They do say that muscle weighs more than fat.

The chemistry between the superstars drives everything. They work really well together. They are at their most arrogant, but they also let the other do his thing. In theory, things look and sound serious, but it never feels intense. It feels fun. Like on the patio when Frey pins Scrappy over a palm plant, smacking Scrappy's taint and balls with the fronds. Fun.

The playful vibe makes it different than other recent ab abuse themed videos I've seen. And so does the setting. This is one of those fun house tours that Thunders likes to do, emphasizing their unique wrestling frat-house feel. Things start in the garage, head to the living room then onto the patio. One guy ends up in the pool, a victim of a surprise kick to the abs while he's flexing his biceps.

It's a gut punching bonanza.

This is a gut bashing video, so you see a lot of the same type of action in the different locations. Still, what a pair for this theme. Fists, claws, stretches and just general pounding on those smooth stomachs. I like that a lot of the shots connect. And they're both expert sellers. Frey dominates more, with Scrappy taking a lot of abuse. I'm not complaining. Scrappy's great in his role.

In the end, I enjoyed this gut-wrecking romp through the Thunders house. It's light in tone and somewhat repetitive, but the guys make it fly. They're among the strongest performers around and have a strong chemistry. Scrappy is always a fun cocky punk, especially when he's getting a big beatdown then keeps coming back for more.
