Review: Ace Owens vs. Max Faber (Wrestler4Hire)

I didn't jump on Ace Owens vs. Max Faber when I first saw it was available for streaming on Wrestler4Hire. Somehow, it didn't jump out at me, but I usually at least start everything that available. As it fell down the list, I finally decided to check it out and I'm glad I did. This video is simple and focused, so I've kept all the captions equally simple.

Crunch.

The wrestlers are very similar here. I know Ace reasonably well, having seen him in multiple matches. He's lean and adorable, especially with his big hair that just begs to be pulled and his simple black trunks. I've never seen Max before anywhere, but he's also lean, nicely ripped and looks good in a small blue speedo.

Squeeze.

Stretch.

Spread.

There's no big story here. It's just two lean ripped young studs stretching in a “locker room”. The mat’s right there. Max figures they're there to wrestle. Ace is fine with that, going along. It's all very matter-of-fact. Now, once they lockup, they're suddenly all business. Neither guy plans to lose to the other, so they're quickly locking on holds and demanding submissions.

From the stark environment to the minimal gear and sleeper-focused wrestling, this video is extremely simple. But, we all know that simple is actually hard to do. Simple can be boring. Simple can feel lazy. Simple can leave you wanting more. Luckily, this is none of those things. Ace vs. Max is simple but also classically-structured, compelling and complete.

Choke.

Sleep.

Yank.

Action-wise, this is heavily focused on sleepers and chokes. There are many all in different positions. As you can see from the images, one of my favorites, the dragon sleeper is especially popular with the guys. It's applied standing, kneeling and sitting down. It's a great body-displaying hold and these lean, ripped and flexible bodies are perfect in it. Most holds are held for long stretches, which works in an old school way.

There's a clear and dominant winner here. Things are back-and-forth for the first half then a total squash for the second. And of course, it's a knockout finish. There's a little awkwardness in some of the exchanges, but nothing crazy. And once the guys are locked up, everything is held for a really long time.

Stand.

Kneel.

Sit.

In the end, this is a slow-paced sleeper-fest with sexy studs, skimpy gear and long-held classic holds. If you're into that, I think you'd like this, because it's executed really well with a clear sense of purpose. I streamed it to watch the adorable Ace, but I'm happy to report that Max is incredibly watchable, too. He's got a great body and some nice moves. So, a definite winner for me.

So that's my take. What's yours?

Alex

  1. Ace Owens is hot! I would love to see him in a video where he's shown working out at the gym. Doing some bicep curls, barbells squats, stiff leg deadlifts, leg press, leg curls, doing the hip adduction machine.

He goes back to the locker because he's running late and he just changes shirt and into some jeans. Then a guy rattles him that he's small and now Ace starts flexing and showing off.

Now they start wrestling with their clothes on and slowly throughout the match his jeans and shirt are ripped off. Underneath the jeans he'd be sporting some white H&M David Beckham briefs. Leaving him to finish the match in his white briefs. Seeing some schoolboy pins, backlside pins, rollup pins, and amateur wrestling holds like this.
