Review: Kirk Donahue vs. Dimitri (BGEast)

Kirk Donahue vs. Dimitri is the second match on his Wrestler Spotlight, the last one I watched, and the most recent filmed match. It must have been done around Wrestling with Pride 2, because both guys appear there and Kirk has his old-timey villain mustache. That means we're getting the most experienced Kirk Donahue and it shows as he's cocky, competitive, and confident in his skills.

It's my finale from Kirk Donahue's Spotlight.

Dimitri is hot. The fine Frenchman is handsome with a strong pro wrestling body that looks awesome in trunks. He's also a really good wrestler with a great arrogant heel persona. Dimitri has impressed me enough that he's even in consideration for my Favorite Rookie Cavey Award after his matches against Krush (reviewed here), Ash DeLeon (reviewed here) and this one (while Dimitri has been around, he's new to me, which is the only qualification).

A real Parisian Powerhouse.

Thick and beefy, just like pro wrestler's should be.

Picture perfect execution.

Kirk takes a break from tying damsels to railroad tracks (a Snidely Whiplash reference for you youngins out there) to face off against the French fighter. He looks hot in his tiny and shiny red trunks, constantly presenting his bulge and ass to the camera, but what's sexiest for him is his confidence. Kirk's not a jobber here. Nor is he a heel. He's an accomplished BGEast veteran wrestler initiating a rookie in.

At first, there's a language barrier. Dimitri clearly understands more English than he lets on, but he plays the arrogant Frenchman stereotype and makes Kirk jump through hoops to explain that this is a multi-fall match where you need to get a pin, submission and knockout to win. The important part of this is that it's a few mini-matches as the guys each win falls.

Kirk's got the moves, too.

Action-wise, things go back-and-forth right until the end. There's a lot of hot and sweaty submission action here, along with some hard-hitting pro moves. Dimitri is especially good here as he does multiple sexy suplexes. I really wanted to GIF them all, but I decided the variety is the spice of reviews. However, there are several varieties and it's great to see pros using pro moves.

I'm really into these matches where the action builds and that's how this one goes. It starts with a feeling out process then gets more and more intense. The guys get hotter. The action gets bigger. The selling gets more real. And after every power move, Kirk manages to roll onto his stomach, raise his hips and thrust his ass up. That's the kind of fan service that comes with experience.

It hurts, but Kirk remembers to get that ass up.

In the end, I enjoyed this match a lot. In fact, Kirk's entire Spotlight is great. The match against Elite Eliot was my favorite, but this was pretty equal to the one versus Kid Karisma. Dimitri is a sexy pro wrestling stud. Hopefully, BGEast shot a few more matches with him when he was in Florida. And Kirk's confidence suits him as much as his tight red trunks (even if his mustache debatable).
