Zach Reno is certainly "having a moment" as people used to say a few years ago. He showed up a few years back as a lean and very hairy hunk, but in limited matches. Now, it feels like he's everywhere. In December alone, I've seen him at three different places. All with different looks and all in really good matches. He's not even jobbing, showing up in back-and-forth battles and even winning occasionally. I love it.

Jonny helps Zach keep his momentum going. |
If you're going to have a moment, there's no one better to help you keep it going than
Jonny Firestorm. Here, the all-time great superstar is looking hairy, muscular and trim in white pro gear with some red trim. Jonny looks sexy in every incarnation, but I like this one a lot. He's also got his badass attitude, surprised Zach would even accept the match against him. So cocky.
Zach is rocking his tight white gear. It could be the best gear I've seen on him. He's another guy with many incarnations but who's always appealing. If I'm ranking the various Zachs, I think I prefer his hairy body, beard and bushy hair. Two out of three is really awesome, as he has thick hair for pulling, his manly beard and a smooth ripped body in perfect shape for a long endurance match against Jonny.

Two hot pros bring the hustle to the ring. |

Zach's one sexy stud. |

And so is Jonny. |
Jonny Firestorm vs. Zach Reno is a "last man standing" match. This can be a thrilling and sexy format, as I learned with
The Cave 13 which launched Ram as a character. The guys literally have to wrestle to exhaustion as pins and submissions mean nothing. Technically, you could knock a guy out, but that's not how these things work.

Jonny brings the hurt. |

You need big moves to keep a stud like Jonny down. |
|
Zach can beg all day, but submissions are worthless. |
Action-wise, "last man standing" matches are a promise of hard-hitting, intense wrestling. The combination of Zach + Jonny +
BGEast = guarantee of non-stop, well-executed holds and moves. These two pro-trained wrestlers put the work in to make this a thrilling 30-minute battle that's back-and-forth with a lot of big hits, close calls and sexy struggling to rise from the mat.

I've never seen that counter before, but it works! |

A good old-fashioned bulldog. |

I love a climb of shame, but in a LMS match, letting your opponent climb you isn't exactly smart strategy. |
In the end, this was a great match that delivered on the potential of the wrestlers and the premise. Zach and Jonny play well off each other with top-notch performances. There are a lot of classic holds and moves and the dynamic watching the guys fight to keep going is really exciting. Another December winner.

So that's my take. What's yours?

I usually prefer the full beard on a guy, but I think the muttonchops look is my favourite of Zach, which surprised me. I don't know if his persona has changed any over time, but his matches against Tyson is what finally won me over. Him and El Fuego are two guys I've noticed lately but never really watched. Thanks to yours and Ringside's reviews, it looks like I have a lot to catch up on this new year!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a plan! You probably can’t go wrong with any Zach. My impression is that he started as a BGEast jobber but now is a cocky and confident stud in the ring who wins and loses.
DeleteAnd El Fuego is hot and fun. He was a runner-up for a couple of Caveys. I like him a ton.
