Review: Derek Bolt vs. Dax Carter (Muscleboy Wrestling)

The new Muscleboy Wrestling catalogue is up, giving us their usual mix of talented young pro wrestlers, hot underground superstars, enthusiastic porn actors and home-grown exclusives. Scrappy vs. Joey McCoy immediately caught my eye, but they sent me a few videos (unsolicited, of course), so I put off buying that one to check these out.

I started with Derek Bolt vs. Dax Carter. It may or may not be the biggest match in the catalogue, but it definitely features the biggest (and beefiest) match-up!

Derek and Dax make a very nice couple ... of wrestlers.

I've fawned over Derek Bolt a lot since his debut (and he deserves it), so let me focus on his opponent. Dax Carter has been really prolific recently, working at at least four different places. I think he adds a somewhat unique aesthetic to the gay wrestling world. He’s kind of a fireplug, but mostly I think he’s classically bearish with a powerful beefy body, a prominent belly and a nice coat of fur over his thick torso. Dax performs as both a jobber and heel, doing a good job with both.

Fortunately, Derek doesn't listen.

Derek knows what we want to see.

Dax can dominate, too.

Right away, it feels like there’s a strong connection between these two. It’s nice to see two big men collide with lust and respect. They’re both aggressive and trying to dominate, but not in a rude or demeaning way. They’re obviously into each other, which makes it sexier for me. They do it right, giving us a back-and-forth battle with Derek feeling more dominant.

Dax makes the perfect heavy bag.

Action-wise, there’s a good amount of wrestling here. I wasn’t sure how much we’d get, but there are a lot of moves and positions and the wrestling outweighs the sex, which is right up my alley. It might actually be the most action-packed Derek Bolt match so far. There are a good array of standard holds, like crabs, arm holds, scissors, a nude sleeper and a bearhug.

One of the things I loved about this is that it has big boys doing big boy things. Their massive beefy bodies are used as weapons as they splash, collide and power each other around. The ring get used as they torture each other on the ropes and against the turnbuckles. The slams, splashes and elbow drops feel intense, like they should with this much beef involved.

In the end, this was a really satisfying beefy boy battle. These two have a ton of chemistry and it feels like they really enjoy working together. I like the amount of action and the way it plays out. You get the stripping and sex part, but it’s intermixed with wrestling, which is how I like it.

What are other bloggers saying? You know, there are times when I think that I should give my posts clever titles, instead of the functional ones I always use. Then Joe comes up with a brilliant title like “Heavyset, Go!” and I realize that I made the right choice.
